There were multiple, well a few, seasons that went back to the two-person final in there. But you are right that 0 votes is quite common for the three person setup.

Another bit of possibly interesting analysis: in the recent years that they’ve had the final 3 consisting of:
(1) winner of the last immunity challenge
(2) the one selected by the winner and
(3) winner of the fire-making challenge…
how do the 3 fare in the vote? Are there any patterns? Does (1) win most often? How often does (2) win – which indicates a terrible choice by (1)?
To be clear, Yam Yam was none of those things, so you’re looking to exclude this most recent season?
This season was a bit of an anomaly, since (1) and (3) were the same person. That doesn’t usually happen…IIRC. If we had to include this season I’d call him a (2) since he was chosen to go to the final by Heidi.
