Survivor 5/8/13 Don't Say Anything About my Mom

OK well - looks like there will be a lot of crying tonight. Sigh.

Hopefully there will be something interesting to offset all the blubbering…
I am nervous for Cochran, just because the immunity challenge does not look like something he can do well in. OK, most of them don’t, but you know what I mean.

People who have been away for 20-some days acting like they haven’t seen their loved-ones in years.

I used to be annoyed by this, but, for most players, Survivor is the most stress they’ve ever experienced in their lives. They are in the elements, not eating or sleeping normally, playing the game, and surrounded by people who are, basically, out to get them, while being constantly observed by cameras. I can forgive a breakdown upon seeing a familiar face after 30+ days of this.

Yeah, going on Survivor seems like being thrown in prison for a month, with no visiting or phone privileges. It’s completely different from going on a multi-week business trip where you still get to call/text/email/skype your family regularly. Even sailors on a submarine get to email their loved ones.

Dude, that is a sucky decision the show just put on Brenda.

And now they don’t even get the food? Dude, at least let Dawn and Brenda eat the BBQ.

Dawn is a nutter.

Burn!

NFM’s advice to all future Survivor Contestants.

Do not win the LOVED ONES Challenge. Chances are it is the worst thing you can do late in the game.

All the eye candy is gone. Boo Hoo!

I was impressed with Cochran’s play - he took the clue from Eddie, realized how serious it was and ran with it. I will be soooooo disappointed if he does not win.

“I was honest with you guys. I was genuine with you. It hurts!”

Oh, boo-fucking-hoo, honey. It’s SURVIVOR. STFU and GTFO…

Not to mention that she WAS NOT…she was plotting against Cochran. Maybe not for this particular TC, but the next one, at least. Cochran just managed to cut her off at the pass.

I so hate “I was playing with INTEGRITY!” whiners. That’s why you lost, baby! It’s SURVIVOR! Jeebus…

Sorry to see Brenda go, though she lasted longer than it looked like she might at the beginning of the season. I’m rooting for Cochran now that Brenda is out.

I can’t stand Dawn. Everything is DRAMA with her. She must be hell to live with. I feel sorry for her poor husband.

It would be funny if the two Fans (Eddie and Sherri) make it to the end, since the Favorites have been running the game the whole time.

I’d bring Eddie with me to the end. The only reason he’s still there is because no one has bothered to take him out and he does zero to try to change his fate.

I think the jury might give it to him, though. They should vote him out next.

Brenda made a little Whoopsie face when Andrea got blindsided, now she got Whoopsied.

The little “next week” blurb makes it look like somebody gets pulled, my money is on Dawn finally going batshit.

Yeah, I wouldn’t be surprised if Dawn psychs herself into a fit of guilt over ousting Brenda. And, ironically, without Brenda there to calm her down, she could snap.

Erik seemed to be losing it a little, too, with that whole coconut tree climbing quest.

I believe Probst when he says in interviews that the contestants go through a psychological screening. Then they cast the ones that the screening finds are bat-shit crazy.

Argh, the one person I actually liked. And that was a really shitty reward option; she was probably doomed either way though, but at least she could have gotten some food in the process.

I think the previews might actually not be misleading for once and someone does leave, either quitting or for medical reasons. Don’t they usually go into the final show with four contestants remaining? The first hour is a normal show with one person getting eliminated, and the remaining three fill the second hour with the March of the Dead and Final Tribal Council.

They have five people remaining right now.

I told my SO when Brenda chose to give up her reward that that never ever benefited someone who chose to do so. I was right this time, am I forgetting any times when the person who did so saw some upside?

Anyway, I’m not all boo freaking hoo over Brenda, that’s how the game works, but it felt kind of shitty this one time.

I really do think Cochran is going to win. He’s the only one thinking about the larger game right now. Eddie is sure he’s toast and not thinking about anything else; Erik is well, Erik, defeated by a coconut palm; Dawn is drama and reacting not planning; Sherri is gosh, I’m not sure what, but not a force in play. And the camera keeps showing Cochran’s doe-eyes, thinking, planning, so it seems the editors are setting us up to be okay with him going the distance.
