Survivor Blood v Water season thread

Ah, like Colton and Monica? :stuck_out_tongue:

Re the family/relative combos, both Laura B and Kat could still return to the game, so you have to add them in, too.

Personally, I thought that voting off Kat was incredibly stupid. Vytas has a very strong competitor brother still in the game. Not ousting him when they had the chance will come back and bite them in the ass.

I also think it’s incredibly stupid to burn the HII clues. It’s only a danger to those who don’t have a strong alliance. For those who do, that idol is good after the merger, so why not use it to protect your alliance? Worse comes to worse, you find it and play it right away, but at the very least you know that no one else has found it.

Vytas will be gone from that tribe next, based entirely on the edit he got in the previews. It was universal over-the-top love for him. That means a hasty exit. I think next week is the last pre-merge episode, so if his very weak team can win immunity, he might have a chance.

Holy crap. I’m unusually impressed with a player.

I just watched the extra interviews on the CBS site and Gerv is my new hero. He deliberately screwed around in that first challenge to make everyone think that he still couldn’t swim thus reducing the target on himself. He didn’t improve his swimming on the island he was better than he portrayed himself in the first episode. That is masterful strategy boys and girls.

I’m also loving him and Tyson. They’re hilarious together.

Getting your loved one voted out by being really obnoxious is good strategy?

I would roll up a tree mail and tie it with a string and keep it in my pocket. That way if someone gave me the clue I could toss the tree mail in the fire and slip the clue in my pocket. An unknown clue is better than a known one.

Vytas needs to go to Monica and tell her how Brad’s blindside went down. Build a little resentment against Katy.

I wish Vytas had gone to the voting table a yelled, “Hey Kat do you spell your name with a C or a K?”

That would have been great, especially because she spelled his name VETUS.

I’m glad that he made the effort to learn how to swim in the past 10 years, but I’d like to point out that his team still put him in the first slot for the immunity challenge (which had to swim the shortest amount).

Actually, I think it might be. Everyone’s concerned about voting off people due to having a loved one still in the game. (I bet this helped tipped the scale to voting out Kat, even though it wasn’t mentioned as a reason). Notice how no one is really talking about voting out Tyson, Caleb, etc. Everyone’s worried about Aras/Vytas and Tina/Katie.

Well now that Tina and Kate are on the same tribe it can be a bonus going into the merge. That’s two solid people in your alliance. If someone in your alliance has a loved one on the other tribe you have to wonder which one will flip after the merge. Late game is when the Tina/Kate pair are dangerous

KAT: 'I feel sorry for Vetus, but I have to laugh at him too. His parents named him an unborn baby! :stuck_out_tongue: … What?

.

The choice was between Kat and Vytas, both of whom still have loved ones on the other tribe. So no scale tipping there.

I think Kat’s boyfriend just played the “long term relationship” card on her so he wouldn’t have to switch with her.

Anyone see the irony of Kat saying she can’t spell.

Cat is one of the first words a child learns to spell!!

Right, but I’m saying that the show presented it solely as “someone we can’t trust” (Kat) vs. “someone with a loved one still in the game” (Vytas), which is a false decision since it’s really “someone we can’t trust, and has a loved one” vs “also has a loved one.”

And geez Laura B, did you learn nothing about how to play the game from Rupert? Then again, it’s not as if Rupert was ever the best Survivor player either. But there is zero chance of you “taking on a leadership role”, and a huge chance that you’ll look like an idiot and get voted out for blabbing your fat mouth.

She’s exactly like Rupert - all emotion and playing by gut feelings rather than even a small amount of thought and introspection. Even with putting Aras and Vytas back together, it was a better move than bringing someone along who is as likely as not to make a huge blunder and sink your alliance.

And don’t worry Laura, you’re not getting back in the game, especially seeing what the final RI challenge is.

I’m pulling for an Aras/Vytas final two, but I doubt it will happen.
There are 3 ‘couples’ left in the game, Aras/Vytas, Tina/daughter, and Laura/Ciera (if she makes it back against LauraB and John)
After the merge there will be 11 needing 6 to control the first vote. 3 couples = 6 though I doubt they will team up. The current power-tribe has 6 members, none of which seem likely to turn on each other for the first vote. They’ll probably try to bring in Laura(if…) and Vytas to make themselves really strong.
I think the show get really exciting from here on out and I’m looking forward to it!

PS I know it’s Katie, she’s just so forgettable right now!

My prediction for next week is that Laura M makes it back into the game, John would be a close second but Laura B isn’t even in the realm of possibility for this type of challenge.

The “preshow” (quotes because there is some valid speculation that it existed before they hit the beach but either way it held until the tribal swap) veteran alliance was Aras, Gervase, Tyson, Tina and Monica but Tyson and Gerv aren’t going to want to return to that since the addition of Katie and Vytas will put the power in the hands of the former winners.

My completely uniformed speculation is that the split will end up being V/A, T/K, Monica vs Tadhana - vytas and plus either Laura or John.

Man, if anyone else has known a addict and the smooth ways they lie and play upon emotions- Vytas is doing that to a T. The girls have led a too sheltered life to see thru that, it seems.

I was thinking last night, after Laura’s ill-thought-out honesty, the best way to get ahead in this game is to be completely predictable. If you’ve watched the show a lot, it’s easy to predict what should happen and when. If a player deviates from their expected behaviour, they’re immediately a target. It’s a game that relies on herd mentality. And, if you are going to stir the pot, do so sneakily.

The girl alliance probably made a big mistake, unless they think Vytas and Aras are going to hop on their bandwagon once the merge takes place. Gotta give props to Vytas for playing the women like he did. He’s good!

And Kat (or is it Cat)… no crying on Survivor, please.
