Survivor - Feb 2008

Hast thou striven to play the angles as devoutly as thou canst? Hast thou given yon divine camera thy knowing smile as thou stabbest thine ally in the back? Then thou hast not shown thine utter devotion to the tenets of Marianosm!

Where? WHERE I SAY?

(please?)

Zeldar said that he wasn’t going to watch it if Johnny Fairplay was brought back. I assured him there was no chance of that happening.

I think JF was under arrest the last time I heard any news about him.

Or just go here

I like this cast…there are some folks you just can’t help but like (such as Yao-Man and Cerie), and a few love-to-hate-them types (like Ami and Jonny F). Should be a fun season, and I kind of like the premise of it. Will be interesting to see if experience actually helps you in the game.

One of the weird and interesting things about Survivor is that Jeff doesn’t entirely play a neutral party, like in most game shows. It’s usually kind of easy to tell if he really likes someone or really doesn’t like someone. In this case, though, we are going into it KNOWING that he hates J.P.'s guts, and that he really kind of likes James and Yao-Man. Considering how much he interacts with the players, does anyone think this interaction will hurt J.P. during the game? And is that fair? Not that I care about J.P…anyone that obnoxious deserves what he gets. Just thinking of it from a fairness standpoint. Is Jeff just part of the game? Is manipulating him part of it, as well as manipulating the other players?

I think Fairplay’s public persona has already done far more harm to him than Jeff could ever do. I know a lot of the former Survivors are a pretty tight group at publicity functions and what not and most of them already hate him.

And among the “superfans,” he’s pretty well hated as well. So even if he were to get to the end, a jury made of fans and former Survivors would never vote for him anyway.

I so hope James and Yau Man work together - Yau’s brains with James’ muscles and blunt observations could be a very good thing. Why did the image of Pinky and The Brain cross my mind?

You are right, of course…I can’t imagine there is any way he could actually win. But in a broader sense, beyond Jonny P., I wonder if Jeff’s previous experience with the contestants will cause an undue influence on the game.
