Survivor: Guatemala Ep. 10 - "Eating and Sleeping with the Enemy"

Episode description from the 'Net:

Which means: Exactly who you think is going to be voted out, is going to be voted out. Just like always (except for the Gregg boot episode in Palau). And here is some additional info from an official communiqué from CBS:

No idea who’s going tonight. Any word on whether Zippy gets re-hidden? If so, what are the odds on someone finding him and wonking Judd upside the head? Also … here’s hoping for lots of glamour shots of Howlie!

Its odd that they are in teams for the reward challenge.

Any way, I predict a boot tonight for Jamie.

Yeah, that is weird. Didn’t notice that. I’m entirely too keyed up on Mountain Dew and Chinese food.

Caffeine and MSG? Good Lord, woman, take a nap and come back when you’re sober!

I’ll be missing this one - I’ll be taping and watching later, probably tomorrow afternoon. I expect lots of snarky posts by the time I get in here!

I, too, miss Howlie. I was hoping he or one of his buddies would find Zippy and scamper off into the jungle with him. That woulda been funny.

Good Lord, I hope it’s him.

Wow! I would never have predicted that!

I’m sure whoever I think will be kicked off, won’t be. I’m predicting Gary. And hope he doesn’t.

I can’t decide if Jamie was nutso or if that was just all an act. It doesn’t really matter since he got the boot and is now part of the jury. It also explains how Bobby Jon made his peace with him and they became friends.

SPOILERS !!!

Well the only thing better than that freak Jamie getting the boot was the look on Jungle Judd’s face when he realized his plan was kaput.

It was a good boot–Jamie is a tough competitor. Gary never mentioned how Judd lied to them all about where the idol was, unless they edited it out. Maybe next week he can bring that up. Looks like Judd goes a bit berserk anyway, maybe this will bring them all against him.

If Jamie had walked around with a sign on his back saying “Vote Me Out Next”, he couldn’t have done a better job of engineering his own demise. What a :wally

What did Jamie say as he was walking away … after the bit about being blindsided?

I really, really liked this weeks episode!

“Nice!..That’s the way you vote somebody out!”

He seemed genuinely impressed that they had ambushed him.

Seldom have I seen anyone on Survivor talk themselves into being voted out more rapidly and effectively. Not that I minded seeing him go; the “Jamie is paranoid” story really had played out, short of them bringing him back a tinfoil helmet from the reward. (Now THAT would have been great! )

You guys are messing me up, though – I nearly talked about whether Zippy would be rehidden, and then nearly commented to Papa T. about how Jamie had Earnest all crumpled up in his bag when he got to the immunity challenge – and trying to explain those names to him would have left him wondering about MY sanity as much as everyone else was wondering about Jamie’s. I’ve tried before to explain funny online stuff to him, and he just sits there and looks at me blankly. He just doesn’t get it.

I loved the look on Judd’s face tonight. That made it all worthwhile.

Oh, yeah…that “WTF?!” look. Then the total despair. Sweeeeet!

I thought it was going to be Gary until they showed Judd’s vote. The fact that the editors showed Judd doing the expected made me suspect that the vote overall was going to unexpected.

Jamie made a big mistake by constantly asking for reassurance - if you talk about the possibility of betrayal enough, you put the idea in people’s heads.

One surprising thing that I barely saw being mentioned (although it probably was a big topic at the camp) was the rank within the six. The big discussion seemed to be whether the Alliance of Six would stick with the plan and vote off Gary and Danni or break up. But if I was a member of the Alliance my big questions would be “Where do I fit inside this alliance? Who’s the next to go after Gary and Danni?” The answer to this question (or the lack of an answer from my allies) would be the determining factor on whether or not I wanted to stick with the Plan. But Jamie appeared to be the only person talking about this. I assume there was more talk about this among the other players but it was edited out.

And on a non-strategic level - Cindy, Danni, and Stephenie rolling around in the mud made for the best challenge yet.

“He’s a man’s man, you know what I mean, man?” - Judd at Tribal referring to Gary.

I thought it was funny that during the “sleep over” the two men slept Far far away from each other. They put the two women together in the middle.

Jamie is a total wackadoodle. Damn, I thought I was nuts. I will have more, but right now I’m having a nervous breakdown. Back after lunch.

What gets me is that nobody’s considering Rafe a threat, and they’re saying so. Yet Rafe himself pointed out that of the three individual immunities thus far, he’s won two of them, and placed second in the other. At what point does he become a threat? But since I like Rafe, I’m happy nobody seems to be noticing.

I missed the very end–who were the three votes for Gary? I swear I saw Steph vote for Jamie, but if she did, then who voted with Judd?

Judd and Jamie voted for Gary, everyone else voted for Jamie.

I too enjoyed the “WHAAaa??” look on Judd’s face afterwards, but Gary’s little smirk was way more entertaining.

The editors tricked us this time. It looked like a Jamie boot and we got a Jamie boot. I thought they were just trying to create drama. But it was real. And it was another Tribal Council where Gary throws someone else under the bus. Rafe made a power play that turns the game on its ear. Was it a good one? Who is safe? Who is in trouble? Who will benefit? The Rich Ratings have all the answers! Read on to find out!

And so, the less anticipated, highly derivative RICH RANKINGS! (N or Y for Tribe (Nakum or Yaxha) and Last Week’s Ranking in Parentheses).

FORGOT TO FILE A 1040- I guess you couldn’t outwit everyone!

Jim,Morgan,Brianna, Brooke, Blake,Brian,Margaret,Amy,Brandon- Odd how many people names start with the letter B. Fitting for so many B-List players. I can only muster an interesting thought about three of these losers.

THE BOBBY JON LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD- The Jury deserves a special distinction from those in loser lodge.

Bobby Jon- (Y/Juror #1)- Loved the smile when he came to TC. He was SO happy! In a final vote, BJ is a swing vote.
Jamie- (N/Jerky)- Bat shit crazy! If a character acts like Jamie in a Tarantino movie, you know he is about to pull out his gun and start shooting people. FREAKY! I cannot even predict who he would favor in a final vote other than Judd. He may vote for George Wallace for all I know!

EATING BEEF JERKY- You’re still playing, but you’re praying for a tribe scramble!

No one is playing terribly bad now that Jamie is gone.

WHO SAID ANYTHING ABOUT A MERGE?-

Judd- (N/Merge)- There was an urge to put Judd into the Jerky category, but I resisted. Sure, it is never pleasant to be the ONLY guy who voted with the ousted player. And sure, it looks like Rafie got your spot in the Terry Cloth Alliance. But Judd impressed me last night. He is seeming MUCH more likable and disciplined. I am kind of torn on this. I am not sure he is out of it, but next week, Judd will be my boot prediction. His only hope is if someone realizes that there are no more “Katies” to take to the final two if he is booted. Everyone else is well liked.
Lydia- (N/Merge)- Judd, Gary, Danni and Steph are on record saying she is too popular to take to the Final Two. That kills any edge she has.

HEY! LOOK AT HIS MOHAWK-You might make the merge, but you’re grimacing from the jury row!

Danni- (Y/Mohawk)- You KNOW I’d love to move her up. But she really wasn’t crucial in the shift. She may later benefit from it and win it all. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! I don’t want to let my hormones influence my judgment. Because “Danni-In-The-Morning” was “smokin’ hawt!” Could she be a Three-Face instead of a Two-Face?
Stephenie- (N/Rat)- Steph should have stuck with the original alliance. Who would you rather compete with? Danni and Gary are tough. And you know what? Steph isn’t as dominant as advertised. She hasn’t been that overwhelming this season. She could get back in it. But why run the risk?

LOOKING FOR A BIG TOM TO ENGLISH DICTIONARY- Big Tom has spent more combined days on the show than anyone. But he didn’t quite grab the brass ring.

Cindy-- (N/Mohawk)- Unlike Danni, she gets a bump up this week in the ratings. She was much more instrumental in the alliance shift. One thing that should concern Cindy fans: the shift really doesn’t benefit her much more than the previous alliance did. The only gain is that there is uncertainty in the pecking order in the new alliance.
Rafe- (N/Tom)- I almost switched him into Rat/Snake this week, but then I realized that his Machiavellian decision that I was hoping for was done for the wrong reasons. It wasn’t to advance him further in the game. It was because he didn’t like Jamie. That tells you Ian…err…Rafe is playing with his heart and not his head. I like him, but he will make a mistake between now and the end of the game.

ARE YOU A RAT OR A SNAKE?- Reserved for a MAXIMUM of two players. You have to be in the driver’s seat for this spot.

Gary- (Y/Rat)- THIS is why Gary didn’t get bumped down last week! No one else deserves to be in this category because no one else is playing a smart game. Gary seems to be the only one with a plan.

Boot Predictions:
7 Judd- Because it is always easy to justify booting someone who didn’t vote with you.
6 Steph- Because after Jamie and Judd are gone, she has no tight allies and she can be justified with the “you had your shot” comments.
5 Lydia- Because she seems like the kind of person you brought along just for the numbers.
4 Danni- Because Gary doesn’t want to see a purple rock.
3 Rafe- Possibly crying.
Gary over Cindy- And people make comparisons to Firefighter Tom.
