Survivor November 3 2010

I realize that we have the benefit of seeing and hearing more than the players do, but if Chase thinks this, he is truly an idiot.
Not that that isn’t a distinct possibility.

But to your first point, you are absolutely right, we can’t know what it’s really like out there. It always fascinates me (even in a sub-par season like this one) to watch people’s thought processes and decision-making abilities suffer the effects of weeks of living outdoors and being cut off from the real world. There is definitely a psychological toll. Some handle it better than others, but it’s easy for us at home to underestimate this aspect of the game.

That’s what drives me nuts about this game. I would so love to see the hundreds of hours that we never see, where they are really dealing with being stranded in a primitive position, living on wits alone. And yes, just to clear things up, this is where Na has shown herself to be a truely reprehensible person, thinking only of herself in a tribal atmosphere. She is hands down the most disgusting character ever to appear on Survivor - an accolade no one should ever aspire to.

Right. I think Probst wrote about this a few years ago. At least half, if not more, are found by their casting people.

Fans vs. Favorites? The fans were all applications, one of the largest groups of actually applied people they’ve had.
