I thought for sure Rocky’s mouth was going to be his downfall last night. My only guess is that the others thought Rocky’s tenacity would come in handy during challenges.
The others may keep Rocky around because they realize that his former tribemates would have no love for him given a merger.
This season has been so bad that aside from a few people, I still don’t know who was on the old tribe and who is a new member.
Mookie missed his calling to be a fisherman.
I hope that Edgardo is straight because he’s my new t.v. boyfriend. Yikes, is he a handsome man. He and Boo even looked genuinely tortured over Rocky’s meltdown at Anthony’s expense.
With Anthony out and Lisi in, that’s way too much testoserone for one tribe.
Yes, he is. And that accent! Whoo! Which … now that I think of it, this could have been who Lamar Mundane was referring to earlier. I don’t know. (And did you mean “he and Alex”? Boo is on Moto, I think, unless I got confused again.)
You really don’t want to mention Katie in front of me and rockle.
I was mostly distracted and missed a good portion of the show last night, but poor Anthony. The only thing that would have saved him at council would have been getting up and punching Rocky in the face–which would have gotten him tossed off, anyway.
The only time I noticed Jeff being exceptionally bitchy was when Lisi seemed to be ready to quit. Jeff doesn’t like people who quit. Of course, as I said, I wasn’t paying that much attention. I had an iTunes playlist to perfect.
Actually, I think Lamar was talking about Edgardo and his Latino accent, whose one major contribution was agreeing with Alex in his distaste over the Snotty Bitch Club that was Lisi & Stacy. God, I hate those two more than Rupert and Katie, and that takes some doing. Thank Og Lisi can’t sit her fat ass out of challenges anymore, at least for the next week. I wonder if she’s going to even bother looking for the idol. I loved the smackdown Jeff gave her before sending her off to Exile and away from the welcome-to-your-new-tribe feast! That and the faceplant are the only Lisi moments I’ve enjoyed. I think the editors hate her as much as we do!
So Alex is glad there’s no women on the tribe. What a surprise, coming from a guy who got busted for beating up his girlfriend and the cop that came to break it up…
Poor, sweet Anthony. When he was discussing himself early in the epi - calling himself a geek, nerd, dweeb- my heart did a little pitter pat.
Unfortunately when his manners and shyness were confronted by Blockhead, it was a little too late.
After the episode I immediately called my sister. The day after TAR and Survivor I email her with snippets of what y’all post here. She loves you guys.
ANYWAYS. We hypothesized that the grunt grunt men voted off Anthony because they knew Lisi will be ending up on their team. What a better way to deflect attention from oneself than by having Rocky and Lisi together. They’ll never stop bitching and nagging at each other. I wonder what will happen if/when Rocky tries to make Lisi the fire tender/water “maker” since she’s a woman, and women, you know DO that kind of stuff.
Lisi & Rocky on the same team. This is going to be fun.
What was that incoherent blather coming from Lisi? She thought she was going to leave because of a schoolyard pick? And was happy? And then bummed cuz she was going to XI? It didn’t make much more sense after she calmed down and talked to the camera, either.
Of course, if the old Ravu’s had half a brain among them, they would’ve realized that they were about to be joined by a Moto, and ganged up on Moto to give them numbers. But that would’ve required Rocky & Anthony working together for the common good…
What? I … really? Do you have a cite for this, please? You know, in the interest of full disclosure, or whatever you call it? And also because I like gossip on these people?
Hey, we all have priorities! I was referring to Jeff at Tribal Council, being all smug and “Why don’t you speak up for yourself?” and basically not interfering when Rocky told Anthony to “take [his] skirt off.” He made Anthony stick up for himself, but he didn’t make Rocky defend his statements, which is ASS. Anthony wasn’t threatening to quit or anything, and I don’t understand why Rocky is pretty much allowed to threaten everybody to a knife fight right there at Tribal Council and nobody says a word. ATTENTION, SURVIVOR PEOPLE: Rocky isn’t that interesting!
Plus, I love Anthony, and I feel this irrational need to protect him. Which I’m sure my husband would NOT appreciate, but whatever. If I time it right, I can bring Anthony home while hubby is playing “Counterstrike” and I bet Anthony could live in my spare bedroom for like a month before anyone else noticed he was there.
I have to say, the more I watch Survivor, the more I appreciate Phil on TAR. You just know that if Phil had to be around Rocky for more than eleven seconds he’d pop Rocky’s eyebrows right the hell off.
On the show she basically scanned the clues, made an exasperated noise, and then tossed the clues back into the box. The editing made it look as if she didn’t even try to figure out the clues.
Yeah, but the clues have been pretty bad. Once they got the third clue (It’s buried under the apex of the door to the cave) The rest have been definitions of that clue, The apex is the highest point, the door is where you go in, the cave is where you sleep…ugh
Also, The grunts lose Anthony and gain Lisi. I think there’s a positive change in testosterone there.
Put me down in the “can’t wait to see Lisi and Rocky at each other’s throats” column.
Rocky is honestly one of the most deplorable people I have ever seen on any reality show.
His attitude and emotional level is about that of a 5th grade schoolyard bully. Witness his reaction to losing, he either goes into an angry pout, or more commonly, blames someone else. If he were the "strong competitor" he thinks himself, why has he done so badly, on a personal level, in all of the challenges. He hats losing, but really dosn't know how to do anything other than trow a tantrum.
Then there is his attitude towards women. His saying they are okay for making out and stuff, but he really doesn’t like them. This, as well as his wanting to vote out Rita for talking about girl stuff, shows he really hasn't progressed past the "girls have cooties" stage. Since women have won on Survivor several time, and anyone with at least one working eye could figure out that they often do as well if not better
I loved Lisi's reaction when she found out her "brilliant strategy" was being disrupted. I only wish we had gotten to see more of her suffering on exile island.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. And apparently, I’ve been under the impression that Alex and Edguardo were the same guy. How could I have not noticed Edguardo?!?! He’s almost as dreamy as Yul. * : swooooon :*
Yeah, I know that, but I still think it was ASS. As someone who’s been in Anthony’s shoes, relatively speaking: you can’t toughen someone up by making him stare down the bully. All that happens is someone ends up puking.
Something I have noticed about Rocky is that almost all of his insults involve some sort of suicidal imagery on his part. Example: saying he wants to use his t-shirt to hang himself, making the “shooting himself in the head” motion at tribal council. He almost always says something about wanting to kill himself because of other people in every confessional. Perhaps even he loathes himself.
Rocky is good entertainment. He has NO chance of winning, but he is funny and not on purpose…can’t wait for the Lissi and Rocky show, it should be a blast.
Great and pithy observations as always, rockle ! Just to add my $0.02:
“Poor Anthony”? Maybe I’m in the minority here, but I’ve been having a hard time deciding which is more annoying–Rocky being a total dickweed or Anthony giving new meaning to the word “nonentity”. Edgardo (or was it Alex?) said it best: Anthony has pretty much been Rocky’s “bitch”. True, but whose fault is that? No one takes advantage of you without your permission. If Anthony didn’t have the cojones to stand up to Rocky in the first place, he doesn’t deserve a spot in this game. This is Survivor , not Dr. Phil ; if you have self-esteem issues, you don’t belong here! Rocky won’t last much longer, but Anthony needed to go first.
You’re right about Rocky, however. At least Jamie and In-Shane gave us some funny moments; Rocky is just plain scary weird ! The bad thing about Lisi joining Ravu is that she’ll probably be next to go instead of Rocky; OTOH, the possibility of her cleaning Rocky’s clock the first time he gets in her face makes having her around worth it! And I’d be willing to bet that, if such a wonderful thing did happen, Rocky would react pretty much like the bully in A Christmas Story when he finally got his–wouldn’t that be sweet!
Ya know, we’re down to 12, and so far, no one really impresses me yet. If I have to have a favorite right now, it would probably be Earl. I like his confidence, not to mention the fact that he seems to be the only one with anything resembling a strategy! And yes, Mrs. Know and I both noticed the sparks beginning to fly between him and Cassandra.
Yao-man is OK, but I wonder how long “cute older guy” will really take him in this game–'cause, IMHO, that’s all he brings to it.
I don’t think Jeff is any more bitchy than usual (though I prefer to think of him as snarky ). But even if he is, can you blame him? Between Anthony’s passivity and Lisi’s pissy attitude, anyone’s objectivity would be solidly put to the test!
