Survivor: One World March 14 2012

Well, yes he did, but I doubt they would have asked him to relinquish it if he hadn’t; I imagine the tribe-specific labeling only applied at the time of discovery.

Fair enough; I just thought “rigged” carried an implication of some kind of inequity. The way it was done had better odds of producing more balance than complete randomization, in my opinion (notwithstanding the imbalance in muscle actually effected).

Sorry to bring up Naonka again, but it seems like this had the same scenario. Splitting each team by 3 and 4. and joining with their opposite 4 or 3.

Whatever bad things we can say about Colton, he got Alicia to turn on her alliance. She went from “It won’t be a woman”, to “As long as it’s not me”
Still, that tribe looks pretty weak. It’s gonna be tough to avoid a sweep over the next few weeks.

both challenges last night looked to be designed to have “mixed” teams. A generic male team would have been favored over a generic female team as the water challenge was strength orientated and the basketball challenge had a wrestling/strength element to it.

disclaimer: As much as I want this post to not sound misogynistic I am sure some will think it is. Please be assured that it is not my intention.

All things being equal, I think the producers would have liked 8-6 split (either direction) in the tribes during so each tribe makeup would have 4 men 3 women or vice versa.

There is clearly something the editors are not showing us because everyone seems pathetically grateful that Colton is not trying to vote them out. I had high hopes when Alicia stood up for the women at first but by the end of the show she caved like all the rest.

Salani is going to rule not only because of their strength but because they don’t have Colton screwing everything up.

The women don’t oppose Colton because they believed him that he wanted to flip. Now Alicia and Christina are probably screwed (Christina more than Alicia, I can see Colton keeping Alicia around as his ally). Shame because I despite Alicia but like Christina.

The men don’t oppose Colton because they’re stupid or scared. Jonas flat-out said he doesn’t care as long as it’s not him going home. Leif and Tarzan don’t strike me as the smartest guys in the world.

I think things are looking very good for the group on Salani. I think the right move during a tribe mixup is to come up with a new alliance from both tribes instead of trying to stick to your old one.

She’s married to Brad Culpepper of NFL fame. They live in Tampa, FL (Brad is now an attorney), and there’s a giant billboard on the interstate announcing “Good luck to Monica Culpepper on Survivor!” I’ve always liked Survivor, but had a hard time keeping up on when the seasons start. Thanks to the billboard, I watched it this season. I was really impressed with Monica. She seems to be a pretty genuine lady - at least by Survivor standards. And it’s obvious she takes pride in her level of fitness, that of which I find impressive for a slightly older lady (I love that she’s so much better in challenges than all the sorority sister types!). I think they’re idiots for voting her off last week. She added more dimensionality to the ladies’ side, and she was good.

Colton is an asshole. I roll my eyes every time he comes on, but geez, it does make for good tv. I don’t think anyone actually likes him though. They really could’ve blindsided him good either of the past two weeks, and he wouldn’t have even thought to use the immunity idol. But it seems like the show would be a little more boring without him.

Colton knows he is on a sinking ship–there’s no reason to keep Monica around if they’re going to lose the next three immunity challenges anyway. Jonas is playing an ideal game with Colton–he knows what’s going on and is riding coattails perfectly.

That said, Colton and Jonas have their work cut out for them–the three Salani women (Kim, Sabrina, and Chelsea) got served the final three on a plate after the way the tribe swap went.

I know a couple of things about her that aren’t genuine.

And so does he. Look, we even have a Colton smiley:  (Man, I hope he gets voted out soon… )

From the commercials, it seems someone goes out on a stretcher tonight.

Please be Colton.
