According to Jeff, yes, it had to be unanimous.
Yes, I suspect this is the case. Everyone on the show has seen Survivor. I think Colton is probably a bit of a “rules lawyer”. Colton understands the Producer’s desire to make good TV and is playing into that role. It’s very meta and by now I know not to take everything depicted on reality TV at face value.
That’s not the way I’m reading it, Twicks. Dalton said “All eight people had to agree…” But Jeff only said “What’s crazy is that all eight agreed.” He then comments on peer pressure, but I wondered if someone had decided not to go along if they would have done so anyway.
Hm, yeah, good point.
I still think so, but agree that my cite isn’t definitely proof.
Interesting, he gave a small tiny spoiler for next week that requires guessing on our part (spoiler follows that’s so damn vague it can mean anything) next week “history repeats itself”. I’m going to guess someone gets booted off with an idol in their pocket.
Just Monday I was complaining to a friend of mine that the women’s team this year was making me despair about the brains of female reality show contestants. Now I guess it’s just reality show contestants. What a giant clusterfuck.
Oh well, idiocy is entertaining
Apparently, the transcriptionist had as much difficulty as you, because what he actually said was bumfuzzled.
I can’t believe no one has brought up the idea. What a craven bunch.
That will be the most gratifying blindside in Survivor history. I don’t think I’ve every seen a more unlikeable character.
He’s like a psychotic despot: the Stalin, or Pol Pot of Survivor.
And despite Tarzan’s rant and Probst’s leading questions at TC, it’s not about black vs white, or gay vs straight, or rich vs poor. It’s about Assholes vs Non-Assholes.
Of course no one has brought it up, they don’t trust each other. The one time someone tried to have a non Colton approved conversation someone outside their alliance ran and squealed to him. The only way blindsiding works is if the person you’re talking to about it trusts you more than the person you’re trying to blindside.
Colton was hanging around the women so much early on because he was such an outsider with the men. Now that he’s controlling the men, I can’t imagine him running to be bottom totem with the women. But if it’s a just a mixup, he may switch up his final-5 alliance. I wouldn’t put much faith in Colton’s allegiance.
Also Alicia needs to go too. After her and Colton I can live with everyone else. (Although Lief’s indian-dance has me scratching my head)
I was worried from episode 1 that this may be a season where I hate nearly the entire cast. It’s coming true, so far.
Great casting in principle, but I think ultimately, these folks are behaving worse than the producers hoped.
My guess: Colton gets possession of both immunity idols.
I just don’t get the timing of all this… the “justification” is to get Lief out for “treason” of some sort… under this ruse they get Bill to go along, but are lying to Bill and vote him out…
Why give up immunity for this? All because Colton said so? It could be achieved the next time the tribe lost an IM…
Please Og, let it be so.
I think that Jeff would have corrected Dalton if it hadn’t had to have been a unanimous decision. Jeff is right, it was crazy that they all agreed.
Ahh but I could interpret it like this:
Dalton: “All eight people had to (have) agreed…”
Jeff: Says nothing because he wants to get to the question about his movie.
Really doesn’t matter, I guess. We normally don’t get all the specifics on the rules and often think that something should have been done differently than the way it was. In this case, either way, the tribe made their (incredibly stupid IMO) decision and we’ll see how it plays out. Have to admit it’s much more entertaining to have started my Thursday with these discussions than just about how glad/surprised I am that the women voted out what’s-her-name.
Jeff must have been thrilled. He managed to be contemptuous to both teams this week. The woman for not getting the immunity puzzles and the men for voluntarily going to a tribal council. Do producers screen these people for brains? Because I did not see any on display at all last night.
Clearly, Moon people think alike.
All I’m hanging my hat on this season is the fun in watching idiots make perplexing moves.
My greatest concern – which will halt my viewing this season – is if Colton survives the merge. Because he will be the guy nobody votes out because they want to be sitting next to him in the Final Tribal Council. Sorry, not going to blow my Wednesdays watching some racist, elitist twit spout off for a season – and get away with it.
But for now, he’s so much fun to hate.
How can he be racist? His housekeeper is black, and she’s just like family!
What are you, some sort of Oompa Loompa or something?
