Survivor Season 30 (spoilers)

Rest easy, fellow Moon. If there has forever been one consistency with Survivor previews, it’s when they hint a certain player is going home, they will stay (for at least that episode).

I am hoping Tyler, et. al., are wise enough to know that they will eventually get Pagonged if they stick with the Blue Collars until the No Collars are all voted off. Ergo, they should flip sides pretty soon, right?

Fuckin’ Sierra. Have some balls. That would have been epic if you had blindsided Dan.

I wouldn’t have dreamed of Mike becoming Sole Survivor when the season started, but he looks to be the guy, IMHO. That said, this season seems to have an abundance of intelligent players (take note, Producers – this is an excellent season), so you never know.

Colton? Twice?

Yeah, I guess so. But that’s more an exception than the rule. Do you anticipate Jenn going home next week? I don’t because it goes wildly against the consistency of the previews.

Joe is probably out unless he wins another challenge. If not him then Jenn.

Which sucks, because I like Joe and Jenn better than anyone else still there.

If someone bitches and moans that they’re going to quit, they’ll show it in the previews. If someone gets ill or injured, they’ll show it in the previews. It doesn’t matter if the person ends up leaving or doesn’t - the lead up to it will get shown in the previews. So I’m saying the statement " If there has forever been one consistency with Survivor previews, it’s when they hint a certain player is going home, they will stay" is completely wrong - if someone is going to leave the game due to a non-vote reason, they always hint at it in the previews.

But no, I don’t think Jen is going to quit.

Yes and no. If someone is going to leave the game – and I’ll grant you Colton as the exception – they often allude to somebody leaving, but (almost) never say who. This is off the top of my head, but pretty much the standard I believe.

Worth pointing out, though: I can’t recall one winner of Survivor who talked about wanting to quit. And although I haven’t seen every season (but every one since the first All-Star season), I can’t think of anyone who seriously considered quitting that didn’t eventually quit, although I’m sure some held out until they were voted off. Jenn is someone who I am rooting for, but I guess this is what No Collar types do.

Our family always watches the Ponderosa arrivals and although Hali isn’t a loon, she definitely has some quirks. Interesting note: she said she thought she would/should have been a White Collar, meaning the tribes were determined by Collar after they were selected to be on the show.

Hali thinks Will was loyal to the No Collar Tribe and Shirin defected.

That’s not what it means, I don’t think. It probably means that they wanted her to be on the show and they already had enough Whites so they shoehorned her in somewhere else.

I questioned why a law student would be on the no collar tribe while watching the first episode, but since student can cover a pretty wide spectrum of attitudes I figured it was based on her interviews/psych profiles.

And Thanks Moonchild, you’re right, I’d forgotten we are dealing with the editors.

I also watch the ponderosa videos (and the bonus scenes and the interviews and and and ;)), and I am very impressed with how under the radar Will has managed to stay. His alliance has NO clue at all that he’s been voting with Blue for the last two votes. Amazing.

Particularly since he voted for Hali a couple weeks ago.

Jeff seemed to kind of backpedal on the initial tribal assignments, saying that they were more mindset-defined than actual collar-defined labels. Hali’s a no-collar because she wants to be a hippie lawyer; Nina, as well, because she turned away from her white-collar career after she got her hearing back.

I hope Sierra turns on them soon; she’ll be the first one they vote off once they start stabbing each other in the back.

In addition, I think Sierra (barrel racer) easily could’ve been a No Collar, but ended up getting shunted into the Blues.

I’d say that Lisa Whelchel of Survivor Phillippines (three tribes each with a returning medically evac’d player) remained after seriously considering quitting. She didn’t win, but she did make it to the Final TC and tied with Skupin.

I think she would have appreciated that, too.

I just watched the secret scenes and saw that, when Jenn was off peeing, she got stung by a scorpion on… the tender portion of her upper thigh. Holy. Freaking. Ouch.

I saw the title of that one and didn’t bother watching as I figured it was just a replay of the sting she got on the pole during the immunity challenge. Now I’ll have to find it again.

If she’s repeatedly having her cooch stung, I can sympathize with her losing her shit as per the “next week on” promos from last episode when she said she had enough and wanted to quit.

Re Hali:

If Hali is at Ponderosa, does that mean she’s on the Jury?! I didn’t hear that from Jeff, but usually the Ponderosa is for Jurors

I had the same question but forgot.

Is Hali on the jury or not?

Yep, first member of the jury.

She’ll be bored completely out of her gourd within three days.

She won’t have anybody to talk to!
And talk … and talk … and talk …
