Survivor recapper Dalton Ross asked Jeff that very question - Jeff said everyone does get checked out by medical before and after each challenge and tribal council. And after the challenge where they had multiple problems, they started checking them every day on the beach as well. So the whole boat arrives & Dr Rupert makes a decision scene was basically staged for the cameras - they had already decided to pull Neal at that point based on the previous off-camera exam.
The way some antibiotics affect your guts, a lot of them might be having a few Fishbach nights, though.
I was wondering why Neal didn’t do SOMETHING to transfer his idol to Aubrey before he left. The only thing I can figure other than him suddenly inexplicably becoming a total dick was that production wouldn’t let him.
This
That’s very interesting to know!! It’s easy to forget, or not think about, how much goes on off-camera.
Also asked of Jeff in my link above. They would have let Neal give someone the idol during his goodbyes, since he didn’t know ahead of time that he was going to be pulled. He didn’t say whether they informed Neal of that though, or if they just wouldn’t have stopped him if he tried to.
Yeah, it’s fun to watch behind the scenes videos - what appears to be a private conversation between 2 or 3 survivors is actually being seen by nearly a dozen crew members less than 10 ft away.
Heh.
Not only did we get cheated out of what would probably have been a good Tribal Council, it turned out to be a crucial elimination and took an idol out of the game. I get why they had to pull Neal out, but you’d think they could have kept it from getting that bad in the first place. A very frustrating and unsatisfying episode.
I’m not going to judge Neal for neglecting to pass his idol to Aubrey, either. He surely had all kinds of emotions going and it was likely the last thing on his mind at the time. I’ll bet he kicked himself later though.
The thing is, being publicly given an idol isn’t an unmixed blessing. Most likely he’d have given it to Aubrey, but that would probably have simply made her more of a target. As it is, even if the Brawn/Beauty alliance holds on for a while, they have no reason to prioritize getting rid of her first.
Well, except she’s younger than Joe and nowhere near as annoying as Debbie. Yeah, she’s doomed already, give her the Idol!
Neal tweeted that Aubry had told him the night before that she wanted to slash his throat.
Apparently after Peter and Liz were voted off and sent home, they both spent several days in the hospital because of infections. Peter had MIRS.
Yeah, the trick is to somehow sneak it to her. In hindsight, I would have tried to somehow place it under/behind the log he was sitting on during the exam (maybe when they had him turn around) and then whisper to her where it was as he hugged her goodbye.
Or, rather, that’s what I would have kicked myself for not thinking of as I stepped onto the boat.
Er, MRSA.
Is there a list of all the different jobs Debbie has been listed as having?
That’s one of the funniest things about this season, how they label Debbie with a different job every time she has a talking head.
I know, I know, it’s mostly editing, but I’ve never started to hate a formerly invisible player as fast as I did Nick. What a load of pompous douchery! The way he tried to tell the ladies who to vote for if they knew what was good for them made me want to bitch slap my TV. I was actually asked to stop yelling names at Nick so the hubby could hear what was going on.
I’m expecting that they’ll need to vote out his ego in a separate tribal council…
Nick and Peter would’ve been two peas in a pod. I still continue to be mystified as to why anyone would ever think it’s a good idea to be so open and arrogant about their alliance, especially at TC.
Kinda wonder what was up with Tai’s vote for Jason… could be he was clued into the girl’s plan, but still wanted to be able to say to Nick later “I didn’t vote for you” or something.
Nick was crowing about it before the Immunity Challenge was done! There are HOURS between IC and TC, and the whole “girls’ alliance” thing was floating around even before the IC.
On a tangent, I’m starting to think Joe has pretty much checked out already. He did and said pretty much nothing last night.
About the Bounty Hunters plea of how poor he was- how the hell do you afford all those tattoos if you’re that broke?
Maybe he got them before his daughter was diagnosed? He said she’s in kindergarten, so she’s only 5 or 6.
I found Scott’s try for sympathy over helping his mother rather eye-roll worthy.
