SUV Rollovers

Isuzu is suing Consumer Reports alleging that the magazine was unfair when it said the Isuzu Trooper was prone to rollover.

Well, DUH!

SUVs (or Sport Futility Vehicles, as I like to call them) were designed to go off-road and have a high stance to deal with rocks and such. This means that the CG is higher and they are more prone to rollover than your typical Ferarri.

It’s a driver’s responsibility to know the limits of his vehicle’s performance envelope.

And yes, I drive a “sport-fute”.

Just some Mundane Pointless Stuff I Wanted to Share.

I’m not sure which magazine it was, but they tested a corvette against some SUV (I think it was either a Tahoe or Explorer) and the corvette lost out on the rollover thing. I saw the article. Seems like it was Car And Driver. I could be wrong. Funny, tho, seeing that corvette like that. I didn’t read the whole article…
