Well we’ve just been given an older LEGO Mindstorms Robotics 2.0 system from the neighbors. Their kids are off at University now and they thought my kids might get a kick out of it.
Only one problem - no RCX SW CD and I’ve never played with this stuff. Do I need the SW? Can I even find it since I’m noticing that LEGO has moved to NXT? Does anyone have any experience with this or useful links I can use to dig into it?
You’ll at least need some sort of software to program it. I was able to find this: http://bricxcc.sourceforge.net/
It’s a free / open-source development environment for programming the RCX. However, I just skimmed the description, and it wasn’t clear whether that software will also handle sending programs to the RCX brick.
If that doesn’t do the trick, I think I’ve got an RCX CD lying around. I’ll see if I can find it.
