If any of you folks read “Stone Soup”, you know that the author likes making reference to other cartoonists’ work. I recall a week where she had the Stone sisters host a book club meeting, and other members of the club included Cathy, Elly from For Better or for Worse, Rose (is Rose), the mom from Zits and a few others.

Well, looks like she’s done it again: Saturday’s (8/17) “Stone Soup” has the teenaged boy, Andy, ask the guitar-weilding Wally if he knows anything by “Sweaty Nipples or Goat Cheese Pizza.” Now I remember that “Goat Cheese Pizza” was the name of the garage rock band which Jeremy from Zits participated in.

But can anyone identify which cartoon “Sweaty Nipples” is from?

I don’t know about comics but they were a (pretty bad but amusing IMO) rock band in the Portland area in the early 90s.

Local Spokane WA band in the 90s… I’m sure they played Portland alot as well.

I had a friend who really liked them (If memory serves she lived near one of the guys)… They were okay.

My band opened for Sweaty Nipples in New Jersey somewhere in the late 90’s. They had an interesting heavy percussive sound. Real road warriors. Nice guys.

Saw them in Seattle in the olden Grunge days.
