This stuff is being hawked on NPR-it’s the latest “weight loss” supplement-from Sweden! Everybody KNOWS this i how the Swedes stay so slim!
Anybody know what this stuff is?
I thought KIR was a cassia flavor alcohol?
Maybe CUUR?
“Cuur is created with a proprietary blend of four patented herbal extracts including Betula Alba, Coleus Forskohlii, Green Tea and Yerba Mate.”
(found here.)
Being from Sweden, the only Kir I ever heard of is the apertif from Finland, particularly popular among winos. My wife never heard of the “weight loss supplement” Kir, and after googling on Swedish sites, I don’t think it is a Swedish product after all.
I agree with Wakinyan. Kir is the blackcurrant alcohol product I blitzed my skull to bits with as a teenager, not a weightloss product.
In the 70’s we made Kir from white wine and blackcurrant liqueur. I don’t recall seeing it ‘ready made’
Thirded.
It’s “wine” for people who don’t like wine and don’t want the taste of alcohol, prefering kool-aid or cordial. They still want to get drunk, Kir is one route. The other is “cider” also in "-marks 'cause it’s not real cider, just fruit flavored fizzy stuff with a proof around the same as premium beer.
