Indeed. I didn’t notice the date on the OP and was wondering, “what’s the deal with solidarity with Fenway? Are they gonna tear it down or something?”
Then I saw the date and it clicked, of course.

And so was Tom Petty.
Too soon?
IMHO, it’s a reasonably good theme for the future. The recent unhappy end of the postseason for the Sox doesn’t really make the choice inapt. Could be a declaration for the future, after all.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Sweet Caroline is just tradition now. Plus I don’t like Won’t Back Down. Granted, I don’t like Caroline either, but it’s so fun to be at Fenway when it comes on.
Indeed. If only there was some well-known band from Boston… I have more than a feeling that for a long time there has been one. But I just can’t put my finger on who it is.
You’re obviously thinking of Anal Cunt.
Yeah, and since Boston is a city why don’t they pick a song by a band named after a city? Like, I don’t know, Chicago or Miami Sound Machine or The Bay City Rollers or the New York Dolls??
Goover is my new favorite word.
The Sox have had a close relationship with the Dropkick Murphys for a number of years.
What song by *Boston *makes for a good sing along?
Besides, I’d rather have something from Dropkick Murphys or The Pixies. Can you imagine 34,000 people singing This Monkey’s Gone to Heaven?
“If man is five…if man is five…if man is five…if man is five…then the Yankees are six…”
