After tinkering with it for a while, I created a cart that, though a little on the heavy side (which slowed it down slightly but kept the thing from flipping all over the damn place) got 15/15 coconuts across in 0:29 for a score of 85%.
I closed the window before you asked, but here is a rough copy of the last cart, that gets there in 12 seconds. As far as driving goes, you can just press right until you win.
Wheel size seems to be key. Try about 1.5 - 2.0 times the size of the example cart for a start.
I’m a little skeptical about 11 seconds, though. I’ve tried using just a wheel, completely abandoning the coconuts, and still can’t come anywhere close to 11 seconds.
Are you on a particularly fast computer, Grumman? I strongly suspect this is one of those flash games that aren’t speed-independent. My five-year-old computer can’t manage more than 25s, even with an ignore-the-coconuts strategy.
Turns out your cart doesn’t need to hold all the coconuts for the whole journey – all that matters is that the coconuts make it to the shredder. At one point in my last journey I hit a bump and one of the coconuts went flying out of my cart, but was catapulted all the way to the end and I got 15/15.
I wonder if we can use those tools to build a catapult rather than a cart.
