I’m still trying to work out why ya’ll are ticked at her, when there are plenty of other people around here who clearly don’t live up to your high standards.
I mean, I doubt seriously her artworks are taking up that much bandwidth. If they were, I think the admins would have cut back on some of the forums first.
So, Chief, all I can think of is that you don’t like her posting style. Fine. That’s your perogative. How about we start a thread about your lack of depth in your posts? Most posts I’ve read by you are flirting with anything female.

Silent Bob’s posts consist of the character smilies only. Sues has the little character (which doesn’t bother me - I see it as similar to SB, Spider Woman and whoever draws that armadillo in their sig line) AND the ‘thought ballons’ with the sub script and no spacing. that’s what makes the big difference to me.
In another thread from a poster who wondered why folks were getting on her case re: no puncutation, no capitlization, no breaks for paragraphs et al, I posted my issue with all of that.
My eyes are in really bad shape. I have my browser set to the largest type face possible, and I still have problems some times (that’s why I’ll often make a mistake on spelling with mistaking o’s for a’s or e’s.). So anything that makes my reading of a post more difficult causes concern for me and others with poor vision. Things that make it more difficult include: subscript, no capitalization, no paragraph spacing, and so on.
Sweet Sue is the only poster that I’ve come across who, in addition to any of the above (and she uses two of that list - subscript and no capitalization) doesn’t put a space between the words. Any two of that list above and it’s nearly impossible for me to read much of it. Add no spacing between the words and you’ve achieved illegibility for me.
So why don’t I just skip it and not be bothered? I suppose I could do that - except that this is a visual message board. And when some one posts, I assume they are trying to communicate, and in this case visually. So why would anyone make a serious attempt at communication and yet simultaneously make it difficult to discern the message?
yes, for me, reading her thought balloons is an impossability. I understand that I’m only one poster, and probably a small minority of us have significantly poor eyesight. However, for those who don’t have the same problem as I, you are having to exert more effort than normally needed to read her posts. Perhaps this doesn’t bother you, perhaps your eyes are young and can easily adapt. But, why should any of us expect others to work harder to understand our post? We rail on Wildest Bill for his missing words, poor grammar and poor sentence structure. He’s recognized that we’re looking to communicate effectively with him and makes attempts to do so.
For me, my unasked for advice for her would be : keep the little sketch - it seems important to you, and I agree with the assesment of others that it’s no different than the long sig lines etc. that some folks are really fond of.
But, if you wish to put more than a single word in your thought balloon, may I make the request that you maybe do an asterix {**) in the ballon and type your text underneath, please in (pick your favorite diety’s name) put spaces between the words, and, to assist those of us with visual impairments, please use either no capitalization or subscript. the combination of things really makes a difference.

Personally, I think the doll’s annoying and doesn’t add anything (at least you can tell what Spider Woman’s is supposed to be), but hey, if you’re attatched to it, I guess you can keep it. I’ve gotten a nasty e-mail from a mod to chop my sig line. I know that there are folks with much longer lines, but I don’t know if they’ve gotten nasty letters.
Personally, I havn’t come across many Sweet Sue posts. But I think the bandwidth issue is moot, and those that are complaining that she doesn’t add anything to the SD are being foolish… next is suggesting getting rid of lurkers and folks that only have a few posts.
