Swiss diamond skillet.

It’s listed at bizrate, but not rated.
Anyone have one, and what do you think?
Thanks,

Nothing to offer - except there isn’t a pan or skillet on earth that I can’t ruin. I’ve tried not to…honestly!
But that’s just me. YMMV.

Not all is lost, at least now I finally know what YMMV means.
At least I think I do. I could be wrong though. Whatever, your milage may vary.

I have a 10-inch skillet. Works as advertised - very durable and non-stick. I have been pleased with it for almost a year by now…

Oh, so then it’s not actually made of diamond. Oh well.

I think you’re generally better off buying the highest-end cookware you can afford, but not when it comes to non-stick pans. Those coatings are just not meant to last forever, even if you baby them.

That doesn’t mean you should buy the cheapest ones out there, but there are plenty of sub-$50 nonstick skillets out there that will serve you well for a good while.

Actually - I think they are - I believe there is a form of industrial-grade diamond dust figured into the non-stick coating. That is why it is reputed to be more durable than other non-stick coatings, which, as **DoctorJ ** notes, tend to wear out over time.

Swiss Diamond claims you can use metal spatulas and scrape the cooking service without damaging the non-stick. I haven’t made a habit of this, so can’t comment…

I’ve heard good things about them.
