Cookware - Swiss Diamond - anyone?

My non-stick fry pan just died. It happens. It lived a full and meaningful life, full of purpose - namely: dinner. Oh, and breakfast, too, on the weekends…

I want another one - and am looking for durability. I have come across Swiss Diamond. Seems perfect - super-heavy-duty non-stickyness (can use metal in it - which I wouldn’t do, but still…- dishwasher safe), great heat conduction. Basically, all that AND a bag of chips.

Anyone familiar with this brand? It is, in fact, all that AND a bag of chips?

Thank you.

Anyone? Bueller? Anyone?

Well, looks like it’s me then - okay, I will boldly cook on something that apparently no Doper has cooked on before! At least, if that eBay auction is still going on…

I will give this thing a pilot fry and get back to the thousands of you riveted Dopers who are out there cheering me on.

Well I’m interested at least. This may mean nothing, but everything I’ve ever bought frpm PCD I’ve been happy with.
YMMV.

Cool - I found this brand on PCD, but ended up buying one off eBay simply due to price. I will keep you posted…

Got the Swiss Diamond frying pan – love it’s cooking properties; pancakes come out TV-commercial perfect (we call them “TV pancakes”) with little or no butter. Omelettes work out great, too. If it is as durable as they claim, I could be loving this thing for years…

Don’t know anything about the brand, but it sounds good… I’ll be looking for new cookware sometime in the next year or so. Report back if it doesn’t turn out as advertised, OK?

Everything I’ve read about them indicate they’re solid pans. They’ve been winning dozens of awards in europe. Hope you enjoy them.

From what I can tell they’re pretty pricy. Mind my asking how much you paid?

The 11" X 11" covered pan here is $129.99.

No prob - I paid $75 for an 11" frying pan - pricey for a garden-variety non-stick that is going to wear out in a year or two, but about par for higher-tier fancy brands. What I cared about was durability - I wanted the non-stick to last, along of course with being a good pan.

Well, I can attest to the “good pan” part - if anything, the only problem will be getting used to cooking with less butter. As for durability, well, I will have to get back to you in a year or three…

If you go to either www.cutlery.com - I think the official name is Professional Cookware Direct or something - they have them, as does eBay. With eBay I bought from the seller kitchenclique and the transaction went off without a hitch - heck, since they are close by, I got the darn thing in about a day…

That’s nit bad at all really. For some reason I was thinking had something like $125-$150.

$75 sounds pretty good if it holds up.
