I have gone through some of the online quoting system, and am pretty sure I can save some bucks by switching comapnies, but how easy is it to switch? Do you have to do it at the end of your current policy (w/o paying fees)? Do you just sign up with the new company then call your old insurance company and tell them where to stick it?
What are the good companies to deal with and which ones will drop you quickly if anything happens - I’ve heard this about Gieco a few years ago?
I’ve switched car insurance online. First, I gave Progressive a chance to meet the Geico quote. They couldn’t. I bought the Geico policy online, called Progressive to have my policy cancelled, and then paid Geico online.
I could have gotten a refund from Progressive, but I switched with only a couple of days left on their policy.
Sounds like you know they want to write both auto and home, and you mentioned letting your former agent know you are switching (not letting it lapse without communication), sounds like you have it covered.
