I recently purchased a few P470 scanners and they all have the previous company’s programming on them. I am having trouble programming them because the keypads are all locked and I am unable to get to the system menu. :mad: I am connecting to the computer using a synapse cable and the 123 scan software from Motorola. I am supposed to scan a barcode for the scanner to work with the software but I can’t get it to scan the barcode. I also have the P470 manual and it won’t scan those barcodes either. I also tried the 123Scan2 software but got the same results. 
It either won’t recognize the scanner or it says No Answer From Terminal. I got a good deal on the scanners but they are useless to me unless I can program them. :smack: I appreciate any help I can get on this matter. Thank you
I am not sure the depth of the “it won’t scan those barcodes either” problem you had with the manual, but that’s the easiest way to reset these devices.
Print out page 1-4 of this manual. and then scan the bottom right barcode. That should clear out any special programming that was in the device.
Keep in mind that the Synapse cables come in more than one type, so you might have some custom kind of Synapse cable. In addition, that scanner supports simple “act like a computer keyboard” kind of scanning as well as running custom programs written using the MCL Designer application (which probably is not free).
