“Yehei Sheloma Raba” by the Chevra.
This was actually the song that convinced me I was a synesthete. I had wondered if I was just making my colors up. Then one day I realized that I’d always seen “Yehei” as yellow.
What does it look (taste/smell/feel) like to you?
I played fair and didn’t look at your spoiler box. That word is definitely yellow.
I’m not familiar with the song, but based on the word you pointed out that’s what I see.
Definitely the yellow-to-orange part of the spectrum, with some metallic gold highlights.
But I keep getting distracted by the tall skinny guy, who is very very hot.

It’s interesting that we all seem to see it in the same general part of the spectrum. Especially since none of my synnie friends have agreed with me on this one before.
And my reaction was not at all ambiguous, like it sometimes is. I got an immediate, strong feeling of yellow/orange with gold. I would call this a “sunshine” song.
Even though I’m a color-sound synesthete, I don’t get a color from that song.
But while we’re on the topic of synesthetes, does anyone else think certain songs are, um…round? Not like they’re sung in a round, but round as opposed to square or triangle. There’s something about certain songs that insistantly say “Round!!” to me. This is one of them. “Trash” by Econoline Crush is another one, and even more so, but I can’t find it online for anyone to listen to.
Not round as in spherical, but round as in smooth planes.
I definately see some songs as opaque, and some songs as transparent.
