Has anyone played System Shock or SS2? I was playing SS2 today. Great game. I don’t think it sold anywhere near how much copies it should have. And sorry to bother everyone with a game question, but how do I get the god mode to work? I have tried “bow to the avatar!” but it doesn’t seem to work. Please respond if you are a conisseur of fine games like System Shock! Thanks!
SS2 is a great, great game - maybe the best I’ve ever played.
It’s been awhile, but I think the cheat is “ubermensch”. Can’t remember how to call up the control panel though - it’s something like control-alt-s.

System Shock 2 wasn’t near as good. Sure, gameplay was better, pictures were great, but atmosphere… My GOD, the atmosphere of the first. I would play alone, late at night, all the lights off, the sound cranked way up… I would actually stop before each door, each room, trembling, truly afraid to go in, unsure of what waited for me…
Best game I’ve ever played.
But OOOH System Shock 2 had some pants wetting moments. The first level, as you walk up the hallway, you see a white blip dart past you… You follow it to the doorway, where you realize, this is no enemy. Or at least, it isn’t, now.
The ghosts. My God they were creepy.
