Sorry to disappoint anyone who thought this was a thread about dinosaurs (though Marc Bolan was the first of the glam-rockers). I was watching VH1-Classic when they played the video for Bang A Gong by T. Rex. I have seen this video numerous times and have always noticed the pianist in the video looks exactly like Elton John. Is it? It seems reasonable to think so, but does anybody have any knowledge if it is Sir Elton, or just some guy who looks a lot like him?
I’ve had that video on tape for years, and it is Elton John miming the piano part, on the Christmas 1971 episode of “Top Of The Pops.”
Who is the bass player who looks like…well, a monkey boy? I know it’s harsh to comment about people’s looks, but he has a very unique appearance.
