T3 and Steven Seagal movies blow Matrix and Bond Away

Yes Arnies Terminator 2 & 3 and Steven Seagals movies rock, they blow any bond (espcially the newer ones) and matrix movie out of the water.

I avoided watching T3 because everyone said it was crappy etc. Finally I rented it and I was thoroughly impressed.

OK T3 shows machines from the future in a much more realistic manner than Matrix does. Matrix movies have poor story story lines excuse me, NO STORY lines. Just a bunch of looped action, and people go “wow loads of action” folks all you’re watching is cut and past action that has been looped 300 times. The first matrix was good as it encompasses Plato’s Allegory of the cave. There was some philosophical thought.

Terminator 3 still did a better job, and certainly something we can beleive in. Attractive robots (better than that Trinity chick), Terminator (Arnie blows the Keanu Reeves character out of the water). Solid story line, yeah predictable ending, but it was good all the same. It was a much better philosopical thought experiment. Imagine robots from the future. Same idea as Matrix done in a much more tastefull manner.

Arnie’s one liners are much better than Pierce Brosnan’s over used lame lines. Asta LaVista is cliche too sure. But it wasn’t used once in T3. John Conner says it once but not arnie. I can belive a robot from the future fighting through an army of people, but a guy called Bond with a British accent in a full suit kicking a bunch of peoples asses is a little hard to buy.

Steven Seagal movies such as the Patriot, glimer man, and Under Seige 1 and 2 have awesome story lines and loads of action. Did i mention believeable action. None of this superman Jive.

Yeah keanu Revees and Peirce Brosnan get outta town!

Personally, I always get this empathic twinge of pain whenever someone uses ‘Steven Segal’ and ‘good’ in the same sentence…Come on, films like ‘On Deadly Ground’ are why people don’t take action movies seriously anymore. And comparing T3 and the Matrix is comparing apples to oranges- they’re entirely different genres. They explore different realms of causality, and the characters in the films are so different you can’t do them justice by saying one is better than the other.

Yes, many people do twinge at the thought of Segal or is it Seagal? being good movies. I am one of the few that like the guy. There’s action and a story, some of his movies are horrible. Flicks such as The foreginer were pretty bad. Yet some are pretty good, and they’re budget movies, you don’t have to feel like you sold your kidney when you buy a seagal movie. I want to see belly of the beast, I haven’t seen that one yet. There’s no mindless killing, and Seagal unlike Bond doesn’t use women like object. Seagal is repectful to the environment, humans and animals alike.

I’d rather watch a prono if i wanted to watch Bond. Masculinity is defined is a pretty negative way by Bond. Seagal does a better job in defining masculinity as does Sam Jackson in definining Blackness and masculinity.

Stuff like that bugs me. Bond sleeps with several women and people praise him for that. Whatever! that may have worked in the 70’s. I am for womens rights!
I would files T3 and Matrix in the same file. Not really apples to oranges. I’d like to hear what other have to say. I’m hardly comparing a comedy to an action movie. These are both futuristic action movies. They’re big screen action movies.

T3 and Matrix = Action movies
T3 and Matrix = Futuristic
T3 and Matrix = Technology plays a role

You ask for a discussion about the movies and yet you absurdly state that the Matrix has “no story line.” When someone makes such a statement it appears to me that they’re less interested in a debate and more interested in an argument.

Goldfinger and The Matrix are two of the greatest action movies ever.

Terminator 3 sucked.

End of story.

Well whar do you want me tell a lie and go against my true feeling and say. “Yeah Matrix had an awesome story!”

Sorry cmason32 I really didn’t think it had a story line. The first one did, the second didn’t. Sorry to make such a sweeping statement, but there really wasn’t a story line. If you’re willing to rebute that statement pls by all means go ahead.

Now that was a sweeping statement. Yet I am chastised for saying Matrix had no story line! Cheers! :dubious:

School’s out for summer already?

Steven Seagal just plain blows.

I liked how T3 returned to the depressing inevitability that was so clear in T1. I felt the end of T2 was out of place. I didn’t like the female TX and had to wonder why the heck the machines needed an anti-Terminator Terminator. That made no sense. All in all though T3 was a good flick

Bond movies never did anything for me.

Steven Segal movies aren’t very good. I liked Under Seige for a mindless action flick though.

I’d like the Matrix better if every action movie since hadn’t ripped off the style.

How about: “Good God, Steven Seagal’s acting is awful.”

I’ve used that on several occasions.

Anyhoo, I wouldn’t say T3 was bad, but it was essentially just a rehash of T2 (which was an amazing action movie). The first Matrix was cool, but they should have stopped there. Bond movies are notoriously uneven in quality. If I had to pick a favourite… hmm, tough call. Picking the ones that sucked is a cinch.

yeah school was out like a week ago!..and I get laid off my IT job this Friday!

Oh yeah? Well, Jean Claude Van Dam is even better than Seagal. As for robots, the one in the TV show Small Wonder would kick the crap out of anything in the Matrix or Terminator series. It was far more realistic and believable.

Fair enough, but nothing can hold a candle to Johnny 5.

I’m not saying you should lie about whether you liked the story line. However, saying that there was no story line at all is obviously incorrect. Now, you might have thought the story lines sucked, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

…I cringed when I see a Steven Segal movie…better yet I cringe when I see Steven Segal name in print… :smack:

I enjoyed Out for Justice and whoever mentioned sam jackson that is Keenen Ivory Wayans in The Glimmer Man

Sure, the plot existed, but royally sucked.

Did you even read my post? I know it was Keenen Ivory Wayans In Glimmer Man. I was saying that Sam Jackson defines masulinity and blackness well.

Sam Jackson defines blackness and masculinity well…what the hell does that even mean. and im sure you can understand the mistake by you mentioning someone completely germaine to the topic at hand.
