On a radio show, Tagg Romney recently said about his reaction to Obama’s comments during the debate:
Here are some options for reactions for you:
Well, who could blame him - that’s the right response when Obama was lying about everything!
It was just a joke - jeez, lighten up would ya?
Typical bully posturing - this reveals a lot about Tagg’s character - the apple does not fall far from the tree.
I thought Mitt said that single parents lead to violent children… what gives here?
He should have gone for it. Obama would have kicked his ass.

“Please proceed, Tagg.”
Josh “Patrick Bateman” Romney was on The View this morning with his Mom and was asked about Tagg’s quote. His reply was actually pretty funny:
Also appearing was the Romneys’ son Josh, who was asked about brother Tagg’s joke after this week’s contentious debate that he wanted to “take a swing at” President Barack Obama. Josh Romney said as someone who’s been slugged by Tagg, he can assure Obama he has nothing to worry about.
Has a candidate’s son ever been hog-tied by the Secret Service on national TV?
Suppose President Obama had a son who said that he wanted to “take a swing at” the Republican presidential candidate.
What do you think the right-wing reaction would be?
What’s crazy to me is that when I first heard the quote, I thought “Oh, that crazy kid…” but then I found out that Tagg is a 42-year old GAM*.
*Grown-Assed Man.
Non-issue. There is no indication that he ever really had any intention in that direction. He’s just blowing off steam. I personally would love to see Karl Rove tarred, feathered and left in the wilds of Alaska hanging from a tree by his toes. But I would not support any action that would move in the direction of making that a reality.
Dumb comment of no consequence.
Tagg Romney says he wanted to punch Obama, Josh Romney says Obama is a petulant child. What a nice family.
Mountain out of a molehill. It was a figure of speech.
I find that the figures of speech that we use can sometimes be quite revealing of the character (or lack therof) underneath. You may disagree.

He has a name like a Palin kid, now he’s acting like a Palin kid.
BTW, as far as violence goes, IIRC most of the mass murderers come from two parent nuclear families. So don’t let this kid near an assault weapon.
I agree, but you can’t really tell with this one. There are other indications of what you speak of, but even this isn’t really support for them. I don’t think he wanted to physically attack Obama, more likely he’s less than eloquent and this was a fumbled attempt to express a more moderate feeling.
He put a lot of thought into it, considering!
“Well – jump out of your seat and you want to rush down the debate stage and take a swing at him,” he told radio host Bill LuMaye of WPTF in North Carolina.
“But you know you can’t do that because well, of course, because there’s a lot of Secret Service between you and him but also because this is the nature of the process. ”
I agree it’s nothing to get upset about, but it was a dickish thing to say.
I would agree. A dumb comment not worth the time getting worked up over.

You mean before or after their heads exploded?
Still, just because they would lose their minds doesn’t mean it should be a big deal either way.
