Hell…forget his son, I’d love for Malia to go on national TV…(maybe on The Ellen Show) and say
“Well, you know what Ellen, the secret service guys are great. They’ve been teaching me some awesome fighting moves. I bet that I could kick some serious Romney butt - and with all the vile stuff Mitt’s been saying, nothing would make me happy than to break his legs”
As to spawn of Mitt -
It ranks a “meh” from me - what I am more upset about is how incompetent his handlers have to be.
I mean, he’s appearing on radio - you’ve gotta see a question like this coming right? I do PR, our normal practise was to brainstorm all the potential questions and then prep the client to answer them.
Couldn’t something along the lines of…
“Well, you know, dad always taught us to speak out against injustice, and call out liars, so its goes against our nature to sit there and let blatant untruths go unchallenged. But that’s the nature of the debate, so you’ve gotta let it go”
This was utterly devastating for the Romney campaign and will be the lead story for the next few weeks.
Remember how damaged the Obama campaign was when Michelle Obama said she wanted to scratch out Bill Clinton’s eyes and it took months for them to recover.
Another vote for this being a pretty immature thing for a grown man to say. But overall it’s just silly and unimportant. Tagg Romney isn’t running for office.
I think there’s a vast difference between somebody shoving your three year old child at the playground and somebody arguing with your 65 year old father at a debate.
from what I see around here, those that lean towards Obama’s side of the aisle don’t really care about such things more than as a laughing/discussion/gossip round the watercooler point. Certainly not to make it an actual voting issue.
It seems that those that lean more towards the R side like to take such things and blow them out of all proportion
The video of An Romney talking about what a sacrifice it is for them to be running for President kind of blows my mind a little bit. Michelle Obama did something like this once and it didn’t look good then either.
It’s actually a really well-done profile of Michelle.
Also, don’t be surprised that you haven’t heard of it. The point is that no one cared. Admittedly part of that is that Michelle is female and while there are many disadvantages to being one in politics, in some areas women are given breaks men wouldn’t be.
Well, I imagine if she’d said something more like, “I want to claw his eyes out! laughs Kidding! But no, seriously, just gouge them out one at a time. I could do it,” then it would have taken up a couple news cycles of people going, “Wait, WTF?”
The incident is a yawner. The only significance is that it provides further proof, as if any was needed, that the Romney family has a dominant gene for assholishness.
Lawrence O’Donnell did a great bit on his show, pointing out that he (unlike Obama) had called Mitt Romney a liar, made a point of doing so again, and invited Tagg to try taking a swing at him at any time and place of Tagg’s choosing. It was the best mockery of phony bravado I’ve seen in some time (nicely accentuated by O’Donnell slipping into his Sauth Bahsten accent).
