Kaia was soooooo cute when she was a kitten (she still is, but she was sooo tiny). She could fit in a coffee cup. Here is a picture of her with Lammy, her little toy lamb. This was one of those tiny stuffed animals that goes in an Easter basket.
I looked at some burmese cat sites, and they seem to have a much wider, shorter face than Tornado. His face is longer, more like a Siamese. Here is a good shot that shows his face:

Your cats are soooo adorable!
Ding ding ding!
Opal - that’s what makes him half Burmese.
Half Burmeseseses have faces that depend on the other half of the mix too. But they still have lots of that distinctive Burmese look.
The thing about half Burmese is that they always have black coats, possibly with a white bib. And they are always incredibly sweet tempered. And they tend to have beauuuutiful green or golden eyes.
Also, as someone who used to breed Burmese cats, let me tell you this: just because the “ideal” Burmese that the Burmese Cat Club put on their literature has a flatter face, don’t think for a moment that there aren’t plenty of pointy kitties out there! We can’t all be show-cats, ain’t that the truth?

I’m another Kaia. Every word in the description after “because she scared the family dog” is true of me. Well, except I don’t physically follow people into the bathroom, but I will carry on a conversation with someone in the bathroom.
I didn’t know that kabbes was a one time breeder of Burmese cats. Fascinating!
Well, it was more my family than me alone. I was about 16 at the time.
We once had 5 cats and 12 kittens living in our house. Now that was crazy times.
6 of the kittens belonged to one of the queens and 6 belonged to the other, who was the mother of the first. The mother used to try to take all of her daughter’s litter into her own nest. I remember coming home once to find the daughter (Crysania) with just one kitten, looking at us pathetically: “I know I can’t count, but I’m sure that I had more than this!”
We eventually found the mother (Kato) with 11 kittens all trying to suckle from her. She looked very smug indeed: “That daughter of mine has no idea how to raise children!”
One of the other cats was the son of Crysania - a very soppy blue Burmese.
The other two were moggies. One of those two didn’t get along with the Burmese and eventually moved into the neighbour’s instead. But the other one - Gobbolino - was a huge black and white male who absolutely adored them. He used to lie on the kitchen floor and let all the kittens play with his tail, his whiskers, his ears and generally run all over him. Never so much as cuffed them away - just used to lie there purring. He was the absolute sweetest.

I’m Ding, and so’s my wife!

Ding! Wonder what my little OT thinks of that?
