I took in a semi-feral barn kitten, about 2-2.5 months old. She is still a little wild, but I’ve had her since Thursday and she has come a long way in that short time. I couldn’t catch her at the barn, so the barn owner got her for me, and now she comes to me, she allows me to hold and pet her, and she loves belly rubs!
She really wants to be with my older cats (she’s FLV/FIV neg., but has roundworms) but they want nothing to do with her. She meows her little heart out whenever she sees them (I am keeping her in a large dog crate with food, water and a litterbox in a bedroom and do let her out to wander in that room), but I am keeping her separated for the time being.
I don’t have a name yet but am thinking of Emma, Gwen, Fiona, Bella…I am not sure yet. I will take name suggestions, I’d really appreciate them!
With that little black spot under her nose, I would be very hard-pressed to not call her Adolph. Maybe you can call her Ada, and only you need to know what it’s short for.
(And she is a cutey, with those big green eyes and all that long hair.)
What a beautiful face she has! I shan’t offer naming suggestions, as our new addition is being called Murray - not at all in keeping with her grace and charm.
She looks so much like another Fiona I’ve known. I say Fiona.
In late November, we took in a young feral (Willow, because of her pussywillow paws, a tabby and not nearly as beautiful as your kitten, but she is much loved); having been born in the woods Willow came with every possible parasite but like your kitty was negative with the scary stuff. She too is very interested in my 19 year old matriarch cat, who now finally deigns to be nearby her without hissing. I’ve heard that with some cats, things never work out, but Willow shows respect.
Honestly? I don’t want to hurt anybody’s feelings, but you’ve got a wonderfully funny-looking critter there. For me at least, the extreme variation in her fur suggests, well, a good old-fashioned 19th-century bearded lady. The good news is that you can go for broke and name her for one of those well-documented cases of feminine facial hirsuiteness… Jane, Anna, etc. I happen to think she’s more of a “Sidonia” (bottom of link), and that’s a great name for a cat.
Awwwwww, I just love her expression in picture 3, she looks so cute! She is a beauty. I like the name Fiona too. Other cat names that I know of are Alice, Pandora, Mehitabel and Eva.
With her coloration, she almost looks like a person in a cat costume. I think that you should call her Irena, after Nastassja Kinski’s character in the movie Cat People.
