I think if I learn some programming languages, I could up my score. That, or become involved with the SCA.

I’m a geek, but I’m not into fantasy or gaming. I think the test was biased.

And oddly disappointed…
I thought that it seemed dated too: no mention of use of Google as a verb, multi-monitor PC installations, Jolt or Mountain Dew consumption . . .

Wow, taken to five decimal places. How oddly specific.
12.8%, Geekish Tendencies. But I’m 56, so you can’t expect much.
BUT!!! I do have a new Harley Sportster in the garage and several really cool do-rags to wear while tooling around on the scooter.

Which isn’t very geeky for having a Ph.D. in math.
The site did mention that a new, improved & updated version of the test is in the works.
That’s good. Also, it would be great if the test could account for different types of geeks, perhaps giving a different percentage for math/science geekiness, sci-fi geekiness, computer geekiness, etc.
In any case, I am…

I almost forgot. If you liked “Take the Geek Test,” you’re sure to like the SDMB’s very own, “You might be a geek if…” list. It’s quite long now, but very funny at times.
I posted on that thread!
Dunno if anyone got the geology geekness, but it sure was fun.

I am now entitled to give you all swirlies and atomic wedgies.
23% geek. How disappointing. I really need to take up role playing.
I don’t think its cool at all. I’m not satisfied that the instrument is sensitive enough to imply that level of precision.
I demand extra points for physical deformities. Everyone knows real geeks have allergies.
A) I have no idea if I’ve been ‘"that guy’ at a concert"
B) Do not “want to work for Microsoft” because that already happened. How are blue badgers supposed to score this? Or - I hope I hope I hope - is this a subtle dig at the faux geeks of Redmond?
C) Which “The Fly”? Goldblum or Price?
D) Just love “I play games: all the way to the end.” That’s genius.
Bad higher math skills and a complete disinterest in role-playing gives me: 46.9428% - Super Geek
One considers the possibility, that in the interest of getting dates, the test makers gave the five “I am female geek” boxes a lot of weight.
Why even have 5 boxes to check if you are female? r u meant to check half of them if you are not sure?
