Tales for a hot, hot summer

After well over a month of triple-digit temperatures, I was reminded of Alfred Bester’s Fondly Fahrenheit.

I found it scanned online, for anyone who hasn’t read it, or wants to re-read it:

(Annoyingly, it’s scanned sideways, so it really needs to be downloaded and rotated).

An oldie but a goodie.

Not to thread-gloat, but watching the crazy heatwaves in the South and West in the news all Summer long, I’ve been feeling bad for all y’all, such as the OP, who live in those areas. But I’ve also been thanking my lucky stars we live in meteorologically mellow Michigan, where, other than a couple weeks topping out in the mid 90s, it’s typically been a very pleasant low 80s and low humidity. :sunglasses:

But then, ol’ man winter will be knocking on the door again soon…
