I have no clue where this thread belongs, but it involves pizza so I’m putting it here.
Anyway, I ordered Domino’s online for the first time today. I’ve ordered Papa John’s and Donato’s in the past online. But what makes Domino’s different is that the very last page you go to after checking out is an order status page that is updated in real time!
There is a graphic “meter” showing “Order Placed” “Prep” “Bake” “Box” and “Ready For Pickup”
Right away it read, below that, Chris has started prepping your pizza at 12:21. Then later, Chris has put your pizza in the oven at 12:30 (or whatever, I forget the times).
So, do they make poor Chris go to the computer at those stages? I know it’s not the worst thing in the world, but it would get old after a while. Is it all estimated based on the current traffic in that store? If so, I feel disillusioned. Or do they add RFIDs to each pizza? If so, I’m moving to Montana.
Anyway, I’m very fascinated by this and would love to hear from someone “in the know.”
