Did anyone see the full interview with tammy faye on Larry King last night?
I only caught the tail end of it, and I am curious as to what folks think of her and her beliefs.

vanilla, for those who missed it, why not give a precis of what you saw and what you think? Otherwise, this thread is going to be nothing more than stupid dated jokes about Tammy Faye’s makeup choices.
My mother happened to know Tammy Faye’s cousin, and the three of them spent an evening together. Mother’s verdict: yes, she DOES wear too much makeup, but otherwise she was quite sweet and, surprisingly, charming. And not a fundaloonie, not in the least.
The part I saw, she said she does have a gay following, and she loves them, but marriage is between a man and woman, but gays should have the right to leave their estates to whomever they wish.
(but red was a definite bad choice for hair color)
I haven’t seen the interview, but I have seen the documentary “The Eyes of Tammy Faye” and, actually it’s pretty interesting, and she comes out as an occasionally silly, but well-intentioned woman. Honestly, after mocking her for years the documentary sort of changed my views (not about Jim Baker, though – he was a real jackass) IIRC, it’s narrarated by RuPaul.
I encountered Tammy Faye while doing a fundraiser years ago.
She traveled in a gaggle of older women. Wore too much fake jewelry. Dressed to the 9’s. Tammy Faye was quite pleasant. Her make up was a bit much but it is tattooed on her skin so she can’t help the amount that is plastered there. (unless she adds to it)
I found it quite funny that as a Christian she is against homosexuals activities yet she hosted a show with J. Bullock (who is obviously cute and gay) The show didn’t last too long.
I used to make fun of her because she would cry on her show all the time and her black spider eyelashes would flutter and then black streams of tears would come down her face as she begged (IMO) for money. But after I met her I stopped. I kinda liked her.
I did catch the last few minutes of that. She was talking about a book she just wrote giving makeup tips (God help us) and recipes. One recipe was her “Dump Cake” - apparently you dump a can of cherries and a can of pineapple into a baking dish, top it with white cake mix batter, bake, and Voila!:rolleyes:
[slight hijack] Actually, the recipe is better without the pinapple but with pecans on top of the cherries. Top with cake mix (chocolate is good, too. kind of black forest-y) Cover with pats of butter and bake until bubbly and crunchy. Good stuff! [/slight hijack}
