I THINK that part of the allure of Swype is that you’re supposed to be able to swype close to the intended letters, that even if you’re off by a few it’ll still guess correctly. At least that’s what I thought when I used it.

In the end I found I found Smart Keyboard Pro’s autocorrect/autosuggest to be faster since it brings up long suggested words after you just input a few letters without having you go through the entire motion for the whole word. YMMV, of course.

Along these lines, Swiftkey is very good; it’s another of the predictive ones, and it works very well. According to its stats, it’s saved me 10743 keystrokes, making me 42% more efficient.

The thing I like about Swype is not only does it make suggestions if your swipe is a little off, and that it is very fast, but that it is also unnecessary to types spaces between words; Swype inserts them itself. Love it!
