I saw a few episodes of this crazy show…I wasn’t impressed. My question: do they make any money doing this? They seem to all have blue-collar jobs (in Warwick, RI) so who pays then rent on their office? Also, they have a lot of equipment-non of which ever seems to indicate anything supernatural! Anyway, they seem to show up at various “haunted” houses, set up their equipment, then tromp around asking for the spirits to show up. They usually stay the night, then review their “evidenc”-none of which ever seems to show anything except lens flashes. They also set up tape recorders (to catch spectral voices). So, is there ANY episode where they ACTUALLY see a ghost?
Do they enjoy this? :smack:
The TAPS guys have one thing going for them: they’ll never come out and say that they have evidence of a ghost. They are decidedly neutral on the issue. They will, however, present evidence of phenomena that they cannot explain, such as furniture moving on its own or an apparantly impossible reflection in a window.
Er, furniture seeming to move on its own…
I’m not a believer, but once they were in an abandoned prison and one of their cameras picked up this swirly “being” going toward then away from the camera.
I’m sure it was trickery or some natural thing, but it was a cool video. And as much a ghost as anything is, in my opinion.
As I say, these guys spend a lot of time and money for nothing…does the TV series pay them anything? I get a laugh when the crew gathers in the office to review the “evidence”-and concludes that they saw/heard nothing. There’s also a British-made series like this, featuring a very weird medium (who claims all kinds of communications with the spirits)! Have they ever turned up anything?
There was one episode from last season where a full body apprition appeared on their thermal camera. They had footage from the regular camera taken at the same time and nothing was there.
I don’t think they make money off the ‘investigations’. They started doing it as a very serious hobby. The two main guys had some expierence that made them interested. Now they make money from the show though. The fact that they are not afraid to say, “We didn’t find anything. The stuff you expierenced can be explained.” is refreshing.
But really, they find very little evidence.
