TAR 4 December 2015 -- It's Not Easy Beating Green

I swear, that sumbitch Justin fell out of the lucky tree and hit every branch on the way down.

knew the Cheerleaders were screwed when they thought it was going to be a dancing challenge.

Here’s the part I can’t figure out,[sup]*[/sup] if everybody wanted the Green Team out so much, why didn’t they help Krista find the bloody fish. A teammate can’t help with a Roadblock, but as far as I know the other Racers can.

Does anyone think we should be worried about Justin’s mood swings? He was on the verge of tears begging for another chance, then holding up eight fingers predicting a record-tying win.

  • That’s not entirely true. I also can’t figure out why Krista had so much trouble when everyone else got it on the first try.

Jesus that was one of the tensest endings I’ve seen on this show! So glad it ended up being Justin & Diana as the surviving team.

I don’t know why Krista had so much trouble, maybe she wasn’t opening her eyes and was just blindly reaching?

It was really cool seeing the House of Dancing Water, my cousin helped build it!!

God. not seeing that pouty-faced greenie go home is the most disappointing moment in Amazing Race history

Edit: Although it might be worth it to see his face if he loses the $1-million dollar prize.

Why? I’d much rather watch, and to see rewarded, the cheerleaders effort and positivity than Justin’s cocky/weepy entitlement.

I don’t know why she didn’t just start picking fish. I couldn’t tell the difference between the fish, pulling them would have at least let her look at them, unless she just couldn’t see at all underwater.

That was the most interesting leg over all, some interesting challenges.

I don’t think it was “pick the gold fish out of all the non-gold fish”, I think they were all gold and she couldn’t find any of them.

At the time, I doubt the other teams knew that Krista was having trouble. They certainly wouldn’t know that it would take 5 attempts for Krista to get it. By the time the other teams knew Krista failed on attempt #1, the opportunity to help was over. If it was even allowed for another team to help her, they would have to wait 20 minutes for the next show too.

Also, I don’t think Green had even shown up yet. For all they knew, Green was ahead of them.

Krista seemed to have no idea where the fish were; the other teams could have told her where in the tank to look (stage front, about seven feet down from the looks of things). If Green is behind them, they’ve helped knock out the strongest team and improve their chances for winning the final leg; if Green has already finished the Roadblock, they’re still 20 minutes ahead of the cheerleaders on the way to the Mat.

For that matter, I don’t know why Krista didn’t watch the other teams to see where they were getting the fish. If everybody comes up with a fish in the same part of the tank, that’s where I’m going to start looking.

Credit where it’s due, though; jumping from high places is not my forte. I don’t know if I could have done that part of the task and Krista did it five times. I kinda winced the way she was holding her arms out from her body when she hit the water.

I think they are better racers and overall deserve to win.

Though just as long as Chris and Logan don’t win, I’ll be happy.

I’m sorry to see the Cheerleaders go, if only because it means the Bickersons are still in it. I’m so done with them…they’re both so bitchy, it’s exhausting. For people whose job involves being aware of whatever small chance they have to get a photo of celebrities, they’re amazingly short-sighted with nerves of cotton puff.

Well then I guess that’s on her then as she swam by them a few times. I know it’s hard to see underwater, but it’s not that hard even with bubbles. It’s too bad, I kinda wanted to see at least one half of the green team go home.

“Hey, look at me! I’m in first place! Ain’t I cool! The race is great! Woot! Woot! Green is good! I deserve to win! Other teams can kiss my ass.”

Later:
“Stupid cab driver doesn’t understand English. He doesn’t understand English, so it’s not rude. He’s so stupid. You’re stupid, too.”

Later:
“Boo-hoo-hoo-hoo! Please let me win, Phil. I’m the Race’s #1 fan! Boo-hoo-hoo-hoo! I deserve to win. Boo-hoo-hoo-hoo!”

Green Must Go.

Well, when you put it like that…

Nah, I still want them to win. Although I disagree with Justin that all their first-place prizes are worth nothing if they get eliminated. Sure, it would suck for them, but they’d still be walking away with quite a haul.

Speaking of first-place prizes, when Phil said to Chris and Logan, “I have good news for you”, I blurted out, “You’re getting a divorce!” Yeah, I know, they’re not even married, but it was funny at the time.

I realized when I was watching that I don’t want any of these people to win. Only the green team are particularly good racers and they’re awful people (or he is at least). I want Phil to meet them on the mat and say “You’re the first team to arrive, but we don’t feel you deserve the million dollars, so we’re going to keep it. Hope you enjoyed your trip around the world.”
The reporters are just the least bad of all the teams left in the game.

Objectively, sure, J&D havebeen spectacularly good Racers. And one of the things I like about TAR, as opposed to shows like Survivor, is that skill counts for much more than do making friends and backstabbing. But when you draw the ire of other teams by being a major threat or just unlikable, both of which it seems Justin has done, that’s not necessarily smart Racing. Probably no more U-Turns left, but the competition can find ways to make things difficult for you

I think Justin’s reactions, while overblown, were pretty understandable. Situations like this are why we have the phrase “emotional roller coaster.” I think he’s just not got good coping skills, with emotions generally - when he’s happy, he’s smug and gets overconfident; when he’s unhappy, he cries and becomes defeated.

Despite the smugness, they’ve raced well, and are pretty likely to come in first. They’ve shown good Amazing Race skills, which is, after all, what the show is all about. It’s not a popularity contest - either internal amongst the Racers, or external, with the TV viewers.

Not this week. Everyone knows you only pick a Needle in the Haystack if the other option involves living animals.

And everyone KNOW you have to follow the specific directions in the clues. He took the wrong ferry. Not just the wrong launch point, the wrong particular type of ferry, as he himself noted.

Yes, but they did finish that task ahead of the sewing teams. Had they realized the place they were looking for was right around the corner, they would have been in first place.

And I really don’t see why the Green team gets so much hate from other teams except for the fact that they won so many legs. They usually seem to have fun with the locals. If a cab driver didn’t know where he was going and drove me 45 minutes out of the way, I’d be pretty pissed at him too.
