How is it possible that Christy (? or is it Kelly?) keeps making that same mistake? Heck, since Tina and Ken will have a speedbump at some point, maybe they should take the penalty.
Episode title is “My Nose is on Fire.”
Now, two teams don’t understand the electric wire task. They keep writing down the advertisement sign numbers instead of the tag numbers.
I want the divorcee team to go. They are annoying.
Yes!!!
Spoilering just in case this is on the first screen length for the West Coasters:
I thought the last episode was one of the weakest of the season but this one was one of the greatest. I was disappointed when Ken and Tina caught up and the two teams who have held on far longer than they should have were left. Tina the Shrew is less entertaining than the Divorcees running around like chickens with their heads cut off or even the Frat Boys bumbling along.
The divorcees were in top form with their lunacy tonight so at least they went out with a bang.
The guy at the sewing machine should be the judge at every single task they have from now on.
Did they not have a proper greeter on this leg? Someone ran up to welcome each team as they arrived and Phil thanked him as the last team turned up but they didn’t have anyone dressed up at the mat…
Best. Roadblock. Ever.
Hi, lorene.
Spoiler-protecting like Just Some Guy did:
I was pleased to see Ken & Tina catch up – I like it when the NEL’s penalty is recoverable.
The main threat on Bleary Eyes, as Phil warned us, was the teams watching the wrong signs and writing down the wrong numbers. Had the Divorcees and Frat Bros. teamed up, they may have recovered fast enough to catch Ken & Tina. Maybe.
Even so, Tina forgot TAR Rule #1: This is a fucking RACE! In particular, do NOT stop and help another team when your route info says to go to the fucking PIT STOP!
Next week, due probably to a restricted hours of operation, there’s a mad dash to the Fast Forward. Fun!
I actually LIKED Tina this leg!
And that judge was too funny. A major ham! When he gently pushed Tina away as she was “helping” him count, I died laughing.
Oh, and Sarah? The shop owner who didn’t reach down and wipe your poor sweaty brow? He’s probably done just what you did every day for the last at least 15 years, 10 hours or more a day. I don’t blame him for not having much sympathy for your 1 hour ordeal.
Well said, jayjay, well said. I think Sarah out-douched Terrence on this leg just with her commentary (and complaining) at the Detour.
Me too. Tina actually acted like a nice human being, especially during the penalty. On the other hand, I wanted to smack Sarah when she was whining about how she was suffering. I wanted to tell her to open her eyes and look around her, to look at the way people lived not only in India, but in Cambodia, too. Can she really have no idea how privileged she is? Or is New York gotten a lot worse recently?
“Our Greetr called in sick, so we’ll just call a groundskeeper over when we need him.”
I kind of felt sorry for the guy. He’s just doing his job, trying to keep the grounds watered, but he keeps being interupted.
On the other hand, what do Phil and the greeter do while waiting for the couple to arrive? I can just picture them sitting somewhere comfortable nearby, hanging out and talking with the cameramen, getting up when they get word a couple or two are approaching. I would not have wanted to keep a cauldron of fire balanced on my head for several hours while waiting for people to show up. I assume the woman last week must have been doing something else in between arrivals.
I’m with you guys on that one. On the other hand from experience in handling hot peppers there’s no way I would have done that detour. It would be rough enough on its own but these people are hot and covered in grit from the roadblock; it was almost guaranteed that their eyes were going to get hurt badly.
The divorcees had their share of ugly American behavior this week too but since they have about two-thirds of a functioning brain between them it’s to be expected.
My assumption has always been that Phil and the greeter have some spot for sitting down and sipping mimosas just off camera. The spotters let them have a warning when a team is approaching so they get into position for the welcome and then go sit down again.
Okay, Phil is also probably setting up location shots and the departure for the next pit stop while they’re dealing with the current one, but other than that he’s living in luxury just off camera.
“Who’s my girl?” “You are! No, wait, I am!”
Died laughing.
I think the legs this season are great, but I’m not digging any of the teams. I’m rooting for Toni and Dallas, but that’s just because everyone else is so annoying.
The divorcees and the frats together were a boiling vat of stupid.
Did Tina of Ken and Tina call someone an “asshole” on network TV? I’m pretty sure I heard that.
Yeah, but she was really hot with the green hair, so she was forgiven.
Awesome episode! It looked like the first couple of teams had a much easier time at the Roadblock. They didn’t have all that much dye thrown at them. But once The Divorcees showed up, the revelers got a lot more agressive about flinging the dye at them and the other teams.
Man, I really wanted to like The Divorcees because they were from Texas and they’re hot. But I liked them less the more I saw of them and I was glad that they were done in partly because they still hadn’t learned to READ THE FUCKING CLUE!
That was GOLD!
Did anybody besides me see the man walk up and touch Nick’s backpack then turn and walk off? It was while they were looking up at the numbers on the power lines. I backed it up and watched it twice cause I was thinking “he just got pickpocketed on camera!” They never mentioned missing anything as the episode went on, so it must have been nothing but it sure looked like something.
Also just noticed this episode… Dallas has huge biceps.
