Tattoo appointment!!!

I have many tattoos dating back many decades. None were ever really planned, each just happened when the time was right. My current tattoo guy is an artist who tattoos. I was looking at Facebook the other day and saw something he drew and it had meaning to me (man, that sounds deep).

So, I messaged him and told him how I felt about the piece and asked if he’d consider doing it on me. It was not a given, as I’ve heard him do a “temperamental artist” thing and refuse others’ requests in the past. But he told me he’d be honored, so it’s a go!!

Here it is. Each part of the drawing has meaning to me, which is almost freaky. Now I need to decide on location. I only have a few spots open, other than my back, and this isn’t a back piece.

Neat!

Thanks! Leaving now for my initial appointment where we go over the details of location, etc. WooHoo!!!

How exciting!

Well, I’d certainly hope so…

Very cool

The word at the bottom has two meanings/pronunciations; one is argumentative while the other is ‘trashy’. Which one is the way you mean it?
Will you explain why?

Wait.
It’s got an anchor with barbs; corks, live preservers, and floatation devices strapped to it in various ways; a bunch of what looks like a little kids birthday party balloons in the background… and you only want an explanation of the scripting?

Don’t keep us on pins and needles - (I am so ashamed of myself) - post more pictures when its done.

As for location if you have the forearm space, that would probably look great there. A friend has a rubber chicken with flourishes on his and I’ve always admired the effect.

  1. Exactly!
  2. no.

You must be reading my mail! Forearm it will be. My right arm is nautical from shoulder to elbow. The artist who did the work was a Pittsburgh tattoo icon and dear friend, Bob “Moose” Rutter (RIP). His work is all wide line, old school style. It fits beautifully. I’m excited.

You might be surprised. There are plenty of people tattooing who have little artistic talent, and they manage to get away with it. They stencil on flash and color it in like a kid with a coloring book.

Photobucket won’t load on my phone, what is the word please?

Love the nautical theme you said. On my upper arm I didn’t do any stereotype anchor or crow when I was in the Navy. Have a 3 masted ship of the line under full sail.

^Refuse.

(At the risk of starting a who’s on first situation - that’s the word!)

I think the meaning is clear. **Kayaker **is stating emphatically that he will not perform oral sex on his girlfriend.

The meaning seems quite simple really. Every sailor knows the trick of floating the anchor out away from the boat in order to sink it some distance away and winch yourself loose after running aground. Our friend Kayaker was out for a three hour birthday party tour with kiddies aboard when he ran into some shallows and had to spend the rest of the afternoon swimming out with the anchor and pulling the boat off the shoal.

Did you pencil in the tattoo appointment?

I believe it was inked in.

Heh. I took a cooler of beer and we talked about tattoos, etc. My friend set aside Thursday afternoon.
