I know it’s apples and oranges but this is exactly how Tebow came into his freshman season in Florida. He played behind Chris Leak and was put in exclusively for those short yardage situations. Teams stacked the box and then some and Tebow still pushed the pile forward 3-4 yards.
Brady may be good at short yardage but it’s no fun being at the bottom of that dogpile. If he doesn’t have to, I don’t see the coaches minding too much.
Can I get the Cliffs notes of the Hernandez deal? Most sports sites are blocked at work and I haven’t had a chance to look into this much when I’ve been home.
A semi-pro football player was found dead near Hernandez’s home a few days ago, and near the body was a rental car registered to Hernandez. The police searched Hernandez’s home once already, and they’re now saying he had his house scrubbed and smashed his home security system and his cell phone. So now they’ve got a warrant and are searching some more. They haven’t called him a suspect, but this is some fantastically guilty-looking behavior. Meanwhile he is being sued by a guy who says he got into an argument with Hernandez at a club, and that Hernandez threatened him with an (unregistered) gun. The gun went off, the bullet hit him in the arm and ricocheted to his face, and he lost his right eye.
The dead guy was, by one report, dating the sister of Hernandez’ fiancee. Apparently the two of them, and two other guys, went to a club together, but only three came back.
I wonder if Ray Lewis has given Hernandez his lawyer’s number? This is gonna be that bad, or maybe worse.
Smashing your home security system and cell phone looks really, really bad on him. I think he’s gonna go down hard when the truth finally comes out.
