Anthony Fauci Rips Ted Cruz Saying He Should Be Prosecuted
Dr. Anthony Fauci is firing back at one of his most prominent critics.

They’ve written a very specific constitution and legal code and then to lock it in, they’ve established a version of the Senate that features one senator from each of the state’s 250-odd counties.
There was already a Supreme Court case about this, Reynolds v. Sims in 1964. They ruled that such was unconstitutional.
Let’s try this: Let’s give Texas a 5-year trial separation. Let them be their own “pretend” independent sovereign nation for a 5-year period, with all that entails, and see how they fare.
We (the remaining 49-state United States) will of course, make them pay for the wall we will build.
I was talking about the constitution for the new Texas republic.
I know you were. But the Supreme Court has already ruled that a state senate composed in this way, with representation not based on population is un-federal-constitutional in the case I cited. That trumps what the Texas Constitution wants to do.
Not if they’re forming their own country. That’s kind of the point of forming a new country, you get the tell the old country to go to hell.
Yes, I don’t understand the confusion here.

I like your idea and wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
During the period we can treat them like DC.
Wiki:
In the House of Representatives, the District is represented by a delegate, who is not allowed to vote on the House floor but can vote on procedural matters and in congressional committees. D.C. residents have no representation in the Senate.

Let’s not. How about we deport these ne’er-do-wells for 5 years and then let them back in so they actually appreciate this country? Mind you, they’ll have to buy new houses, but hey, cost o’ doing bidness.

I see a Man Without a Country remake here. A handful of yahoos each per Navy ship posted outside the U.S., endlessly wandering the parts of the world they like even less than they like blue states. I hesitate to imagine the shrines to the United States, as they see it, that they’d create in their cabins, though. ![]()
Do they still have a lot of refineries in Texas? Once they secede, and the environmental protection restraints are off, the whole state will become a superfund site.
Then they can get that sweet, sweet federal mon…. Oh wait. Never mind.
Speaking of Ted Cruz, Dr. Fauci is finally answering the anti-science personal attacks that come his way from dishonest Republicans.

Dr. Anthony Fauci is firing back at one of his most prominent critics.
" Face the Nation host Margaret Brennan then referenced Cruz.
“Senator Cruz told the attorney general you should be prosecuted,” she said.
Fauci laughed at the notion.
“ I should be prosecuted?!” Fauci said. “What happened on Jan. 6, senator?!”
Brennan followed up by asking, “Do you think that this is about making you a scapegoat to deflect from [former] President [ Donald ] Trump ?”
“Of course!” Fauci replied. “You have to be asleep not to figure that one out.”
If Texas secedes from the union, should we just sit back as Mexico immediately steps in and reclaims it? I would be cool with that if the US tries it’s best to bring all the loyalists (to the US) out.
Interesting article from The Bulwark.

A couple weeks ago Senator Ted Cruz was speaking at Texas A&M University when someone asked him his thoughts on the Texas secessionist movement. He replied that he wasn’t “there, yet.” It is important to understand that the modern secession...

Remember, it always comes back to Russia. It’s not about Trump, it’s not just happening in the US. Russia foments this crap as part of their effort to take down democracy worldwide. Granted, it takes traction easily and they may not have to do much fomenting, but that’s because they’ve laid the groundwork.
that’s because they’ve laid the groundwork.
And, I assume, because they have people like Sen Ted Cruz actively working for them. Yes, I firmly believe that Cruz (and others) are active Russian assets.
That said, Cruz is a saner Republican.
He just committed Sedition. I do not think he is sane at all.
Why are there so many bases in Texas?
Porkbarrel legislation, Texas lawmakers and the South often demand bases for their support.
I don’t know why people even talk about this stuff.
Because Cruz said it, to appeal to the nutcase base, which shows the nutcase base is bigger than we thought. In a sane world, Cruz would be removed from office, and send to prison for making such a suggestion.
