Let’s try this: Let’s give Texas a 5-year trial separation. Let them be their own “pretend” independent sovereign nation for a 5-year period, with all that entails, and see how they fare.
We (the remaining 49-state United States) will of course, make them pay for the wall we will build.

I know you were. But the Supreme Court has already ruled that a state senate composed in this way, with representation not based on population is un-federal-constitutional in the case I cited. That trumps what the Texas Constitution wants to do.
Not if they’re forming their own country. That’s kind of the point of forming a new country, you get the tell the old country to go to hell.

Speaking of Ted Cruz, Dr. Fauci is finally answering the anti-science personal attacks that come his way from dishonest Republicans.

Remember, it always comes back to Russia. It’s not about Trump, it’s not just happening in the US. Russia foments this crap as part of their effort to take down democracy worldwide. Because Cruz said it, to appeal to the nutcase base, which shows the nutcase base is bigger than we thought. In a sane world, Cruz would be removed from office, and send to prison for making such a suggestion.
