I said to somebody last week there was no way Publicity Ho Dr. Phil wasn’t going to get him a piece of that.
So the developments:
His “Patti the Daytime Hooker” skankass girlfriend is going to pull him back down if she can. I’m developing an almost hetero-crush on Williams’ ex-wife, and Williams is clearly an addict in the “I will tell you anything you want to hear and could probably pass a lie detector test while doing it” mode. I still hope he’ll shape up enough to ditch the skank, pays back his ex-wife for some of the enormous responsibilities (financial and otherwise) he dumped on her and maybe put some money aside for his grandkids college, and still be self supporting.
I’ve never watched Dr. Phil but the segments I’ve seen from the Williams & his family eps make me wish for the first time his show was available online. I totally believe that Phil’s concern is more for ratings than Williams but it’s still good SchadenfreudeTV.
Not bad for a homeless guy. I wonder who is paying the bill?
I hope Williams doesn’t waste this chance. This only happens in movies. After 90 days in a nice place like this, maybe he’ll see his hooker gf in a different light. She looks pretty darn rough.
You said it.
Ted Williams looks that attention-whore-douchebag Dr. Phil straight in the eyes as he tells him lie after lie.
Ted is gonna be making news in the future, buit it won’t be the feelgood redemption story that we will all be hearing about, it will be for a cocaine-fueled crime spree that ends in handcuffs and feces-soiled clothing.
Well, I guess Ted’s heading back to his cardboard box. The dumb ass left Rehab. A $49,000 deluxe 90 day program with beach access and he pisses it away. :smack:
Well, I hope he enjoys the cold winter. I doubt anyone will waste any time on this twit again.

It never pays to invest any hope in addicts. I knew a couple from my high school and college classes. Around here, the state clinics are only 28 days and cost a patient about $400 (if they qualify as needy). You can’t get much done in 28 days. I wasted my $400 sending one friend. I personally drove him to the place and paid the clinic. He was back using within two weeks of getting out. But,at least he did do the full 28 day program.
That’s why I was excited to hear Williams got into a “rich mans” clinic for 90 days. They’d have much better doctors. But, he obviously doesn’t really want help.
He let us all down. If I can’t believe in Ted Williams, then who can I believe in?
I know in my case, I had transferred some of the hopes for my own sick friends to Williams. Maybe, just Maybe one guy could beat the odds. Williams seemed beaten down enough, that he might be ready to change.
Not going to happen. The long term success rate for addicts is abysmal. I personally know only one friend that is in recovery. He only had an alcohol problem. No crack, meth etc. He goes to AA every week. So far, he’s been clean for about 5 years.
Yoda: “There is another…”.
Hell, I don’t have a drug or alcohol problem and I’d take a 90 day stay at that place.
OTOH there might be some merit to this:
There will always be poor and suffering. When lightning strikes for one talented poor schmuck, just raise a glass to him and have a smile. If we spend time doing background checks to rule out every sap with a criminal record or a drug addiction, we will be buried in red tape and no one will ever get to run with a hot streak of good luck.
So that was him? Thought so. Cool.
This is normally called “The Employment Process”.
Vicki Lawrence of Mama’s Family reprised her character for a… bizarrely mean spirited… parody that’s gotten her a lot of flack.
