I, too, went straight to the Songs of Solomon. 
OK, hijack here: there’s a particular hyperreal Rockwell-influenced artform there, with JC being all brotherly and guiding in a variety of regular situations (e.g. in that collection, the one with him in a classroom captioned “ur saviour… FLUNKED”) that is ringing massive bells for me, having been seriously evangelised at by family friends when I was seventeen. They gave me many books and comics (possibly even including some Jack Chick), and many of them had benevolent corporeal Jesus guiding people in various places. What’s the story with them?
