Hi there…I’m trying to think of a way to foil telemarketers, and with all the insane geniuses around here…someone must have a great procedure…if not, at least post some funny jokes you’ve played on them
Well the best one I’ve heard was when getting a pitch from a telemarketer all of a sudden pretend you have to go. Then ask for their home phone number so you can call them back to talk some more. When they tel you they can’t give you that. Tell them that is how you feel when they call you…
Above all be nice. I used to be a telemarketer. The products they sell are usually pretty good. This is what they do for a living. This is what puts food on their table and clothes on their childrens back. It is a very stressful job and they know they are invading your privacy. Just be nice.

Generally saying, “I’m not interested, thank you,” and hanging up works. Telling them to take me off their call lists didn’t seem to cut down on the number of calls I got so I just get off as politely and quickly as I can. They are people, after all, with truly crappy jobs. But if I want a credit card, I’ll go talk to my bank, THANK YOU…
