Philosophically I disagree with this, if only because my best strategy is perpetually “find a scum, hang on them until they are lynched, find next target.”
Contrariwise, when I’m town, I find I’m often generating a lot of low-level suspicion simply for being a highly aggressive player with bouts of silence–your voting system will lead to me being incorrectly lynched much more often because there’s less risk involved in voting a marginal candidate.
Even with that strategy, you can still be looking at other players to find the next target, before your primary target is lynched or killed.
I’d say it means that players need to improve their scum-finding techniques, then. Of course, I’m a player who gets votes for aggressive play, as well.
And some players, who I disagree with, would say it means you need to change your play style.
Something that I don’t think any players have mentioned is the importance of rank in tie-breaking at lynch or lose. If the game reaches a state with equal numbers of scum and town, it’s not game-over because rank will break tied votes. Having a confirmed town as Captain is very valuable.
No surprise. Maybe a little bit on Hal. Peeker shooting him is really interesting and at this point I don’t know what I think of it (or him). I wish I’d been able to say more/more varied things on more people. Just not a good headspace for me, the whole time.
LOL at the unspoiled thread thinking I was scummy. I was thinking I was scummy, too. All the way back to the beginning of day one, it was just “what am I DOING”? I haven’t had a game in a long time where I’ve just felt so OFF, at least not as town.
Scummity scum scum. The security officer can both release one player and jail one player on the same day. It’s possible that fluid doesn’t understand that, but “misunderstandings” like that were a major tactic used by the scum in the previous run of this game.
No, that was “misunderstandings” more like
Everyone else: “OK, then, we’re agreed. We jail Darth, and then the new doctor investigates Cookies.”
Darth: “OK, good plan. I’ll go along with it. I investigate ColdPhoenix.”
For those playing from home, as it stands the only way Crackrat does not get spaced is if one of the active players changes his or her vote (Crackrat showing up and voting will NOT be enough).
(assuming Naf doesn’t show up & peeker isn’t released).
So I’m sure someone’s going to ask this in the game thread, but is it possible for there to be more than one of a given role in the game? (Aside from Mates obviously)
