My google/wiku/imdb-fu hast failed me miserably. I’m looking for the name of a short lived series, probably on either the WB or UPN in teh last fifteen years. It was about a 20-something man who returns to his home after a period of absence. I think the town was on an island and has an ominous sounding name like Danger Island or Mystery Island or something which was also the name of the show. I think maybe his dad or brother was the sheriff, and there was an ongoing arc about his mother or sister having dies mysteriously when he was younger. His potential love interest is some sort of forensic scientist woman who always has dead bodies around her property so she can investigate rates of decomposure and so forth. The island or town is know for attracting mysterious events or bad luck. He has some sort of knack for solving mysteries, so most episode involve him helping solve the mystery behind some sort of strange occurance. Does anyone know the name of this show? Thanks!
Well … so MANY TV series are set in New York …
Okay, extremely random guess just based on the “ominous title”…
Was it “Wolf Lake”? Lou Diamond Phillips was the town sheriff or cop. It was on UPN for a short while. It was on TV in 2001. It took place in the Pacific Northwest somewhere. Not an island though.
I don’t suppose the show you remeber has werewolves in it? You probably would have mentioned that in your OP.
Eerie, Indiana maybe?
Could this be what ye seek: http://www.mania.com/32286.html ?
That seems to fit the OP precisely.
My wife and I really liked that show. mmmm… Poppy…
TV really tried to make a star out of Eddie Cahill - he went from Friends to Glory Days, to Haunted in short succession. None stuck.
Oh, I loved Glory Days. WB tried so hard to introduce Angel/Charmed fans to the show, but it didn’t really seem to work. I remember noticing that sort of thing… if there was a ‘free spot’ on thursdays where something else had been cancelled, they’d run an Angel rerun there one week, and then rebroadcast Glory Days in that slot the next, hoping to hook any Angel fans who were taking a look to see if they’d get an extra dose yet again. That sort of thing.
Then they brought ‘Felicity’ back out of hiatus for a split second, and that was that for GD. Next fall, Emily VanCamp was right back on the network in Everwood. (She was Eddie’s smartmouth little sister on Glory Days - the one who kinduv tricked him into coming back home.)
Ahhhh…
I loved Glory Days
The sole plot continuation from episode to episode was the main characters’ rocky relationships, so it didn’t really matter what order you watched the episodes in. I think that show is the main reason I went on to watch Everwood.
I’ve got to ask - is there any particular connection between the two shows beyond Emily appearing in both?
Other than being on the same network, nope.
You got me interested enough to look for GD on Netflix, but sadly, no luck.
