You could download the SQL database, and build your own. It’s on the dev site somewhere.
Good lord man, have a heart. The learning curve of eve is steep but we don’t require people to write their own apps just to play.
Funnily enough, I’m halfway through writing something up to accommodate his suggestion. I’m on a laptop that won’t run the game and am really reallllly bored.
Sweet thanks, that’s all I needed, just to know which items are good to check up on.
Can I ask another question? What type of damage is best for projectile, missle and drone? Im minmatar in a battleship still pretty much fighting amarr and angels and drones on missions stills. Hehe just had a 80 minute fight with a named general, and went through about 600 missles.
weaknesses/strengths depend on the rats in question.
Angels mostly deal explosive damage (the high end BS rats are more varied, with a particular fuck you to saints and seraphim). They are weakest to explosive damage.
Other rat types are different and it can be a bit challenging to work out what you need to tank for for any given type. Many people have a chart in their character bio but those are a bit simplistic. I used a link in the in game browser which I’d give you but my eve installation is not on this machine.
On doing a web search I found this:
The first set of figures is what type of damage it does, the second is what its resists are. You should set up your own tank to be strong in the areas where they’re hitting and your dps to be strong in the areas they’re weakest.
We all thank you, your laptop and your boredom for your beneficence.
Is anyone else getting dropped from Eve a lot? Tis didn’t happen to me at first, but has been since the update.
Character is not showing up. Maybe after downtime tomorrow it will appear.
Thanks for the help guys, I am getting to the point where I can start making multiple hundreds of thousands in a mission.
Congrats, you’re officially better at EvE than me. (I can only make about 45k per mission)
One chief scout is worth 50k in bounty. I’m hanging out in Archee and taking them down. I’ve got a Maulus with two 150mm Railguns and two generic damage reduction modules.
If I’m facing off with two or more chief scouts I have to go back for repairs in the middle of the fight often. If it’s less than two chief scouts, like one chief scout and a protector or something, then it’s easy, you just maul the little guy, and keep the Chief scout at about 12k-15k using Tungsten rounds. That’s out of range for his guns. I use two warrior drones cuz they are cheap and pack a good punch. Better than using a single medium like a hammer I find. Less expensive, and just as harmful to my enemies. If the chief scout starts shooting at the drones even better. You have impunity to mess him up. If I get up close and personal I’ve been using Plutonium rounds. I’d use Anti-Matter rounds but they don’t have them in Bawilan, which is the closest system with a decent armory at the Republic Services Security Plant. I like the Tungsten rounds because they increase your range. Tungsten gets me about 15-25 damage at 15km. Plutonium gets me 25-45 at under 10k, but then I take a pounding.
I have gotten through some of these scrapes without even taking armor damage. If I can do that, I just hang out til my shields recharge and go to the next asteroid belt for some more rat hunting. Between the bounties of between 8-50k per ship, and the stuff they have in their holds, I come out with a haul worth six figures guaranteed.
I did have a benefactor however who helped me load up with some of the heavier gear I’ve been using, that’s a part of it. Though, now I am in a pretty steady routine of being able to profit every time I go out. I have lost a couple of ships in the process so I have a ways to come back up moneywise.
My issue is that right now I’m only trained in small hybrid guns, so the vast majority of my damage came from my hobgoblins, I pretty much just kited them around in my Imicus with a capacitor battery and a shield recharger while the hobgoblins ripped them, ever since my ship blew up I made a bad move (i.e. miscalculated my funds) and got an incursus, I now lack the money to either fit my new ship or get the materials (and miners) to make/fit a new imicus. My character is pretty much in hell right now and I’m trying to figure out what to do, which I’m guessing will end up amounting to “do tons of courier missions.”
Ok, I just started looking at the market value of some of the stuff I got from the holds of these ships, and it’s looking like I have millions worth of gear. This is definitely a lucrative profession.
Why don’t you come out and roll with me right now. I’ll give you some heavier artillery. Also, 150mm railguns ARE small hybrids. There are also some asteroids in these fields that are not found in regular asteroid fields. We can come in and take out the Serpentis then mine some stuff. I’m telling you, six figure incomes. Even if you’re not into mining, we could just make quick work of Serpentis across the whole system, in one excursion come back with a million in loot.
A Maulus with two railguns and an Imicus with two railguns would make short work of these guys, particularly if we have five Warrior I drones taking out the trash.
Man, I think I’m going to plagiarize you and use this as my sig on the game forums!
Ack! Imicus is the wrong ship for that.
The Imicus is an Astrometrics frig meaning it is best at using for probing out exploration sites and other ships. Not much of a combat ship. For combat check out the Tristan or Incursus.
Pay attention to the ship descriptions and use the appropriate ship for the job at hand. Yes most ships can do anything but they very much benefit from their specialties.
Also, Gallente are armor tankers. Takes a little getting used to to be comfortable having enemies chew on your armor but it works very well and is generally the preferred tanking method in the game (for various reasons).
Caldari are the shield tankers.
Minmatar depends on the ship (making them more difficult to skill for as you need to be good at both to effectively use all of their ships). Minnies really like speed tanking but if speed tanking fails the result is generally fatal very, very quickly…more an all or nothing thing but hugely popular in PvP (wait till you face a nanopuke…piss you off to no end).
Amarr are supreme armor tankers.
Missed the Edit Window but wanted to share a sig I see on the EVE-O forums about Minmatar ships:
“Flying Minmatar is like falling down some stairs in an office chair while firing an Uzi.”
Even more once you can Salvage.
They come in two versions: small and medium.
Nope.
Dual 150mm’s are mediums.
But they’re not another ‘version’ of the 150mm, they’re a totally different railgun that happens to have a similar name.
I knew it was the wrong ship, but it was the only one I could afford at the time, I have an incursus, my imicus was a mining ship, though I occasionally (and usually successfully) did combat missions on if I was bored.
