Mr. m and I are going to visit friends in Cairo in a few weeks. We’ve been advised by several people to go on a Nile cruise, which sounds great. The sailboat sounds especially appealing. But, we’re only going to be there for about 10 days, so we don’t want to use up all our time on a boat. Anyone out there who’s been on a cruise–what do you recommend?
We also plan to make a trip to Alexandria by train, and in Cairo hit the Egyptian Museum and, of course, the pyramids.
I took a 2-week trip to Egypt about 3 years ago, and it included a 3-day Nile cruise. The cruise was a lot of fun, and it stopped at Kom Ombo and Edfu. You’ll have a great time in Egypt, it was the best trip I ever took!
Funny you should mention this. My husband and 3 friends went sailing on the Nile in January and had a marvelous time. The rented a falucca (sp?) and crew. It was wonderful, they said. Up until the time one of the party had a heart attack and died, but that’s another story.
