Obviously Mainland China is a big country and I imagine sexual mores might vary a bit from place to place, but overall I have only a vague impression of what contemporary Chinese sexual mores are all about. The closest (guessing) analog I can come up with is that it’s probably kinda-sorta rural, small town 1940’s America style prudish. Is it like small town America in the 40’s and 50’s or is it something different altogether.
How do young Chinese men and women view themselves as sexual beings?

In light of China’s current population despite their political problems I would guess it might be highly traditional in rural areas - marry young, lay back and think of Engl… um… Shanghai and pop out babies. Pretty much like every other rural area in the world. Just a guess though
Chinese people are conservative. They’re not quite prudish in the same way as people of 1940s America because nobody thinks you will go to hell for having sex. But they are quite conservative. City-dwellers are probably both more informed and less inclined than country-dwellers. It is also much-much easier to get away with having more than one kid out in the country.
I heard somewhere that divorce is big in the cities now, but I can’t remember where I read that.
