After a week of frantically searching through 6 bookstores I finally found the Chemistry book I needed. Now I can actually be prepared for class and the test on Thursday.
I just got to rescue 11 salamanders.
I’ve developed a job for myself for the winter.
The weather was great today
Tomorrow morning is seed-collecting!
I can’t think of any good news now myself… I could use some.
Well, until you showed up, my favorite username was “Holy Shit I Like Pie!”
Since that person is no longer around, you are in the lead.
Did you look at the tiny turtle?
Dude, speak for yourself. I had to repel a zombie invasion of the neighborhood. Luckily, I was succesful, so I guess that’s good news.
I kill more zombies before breakfast than most people do all day.
Well, let’s see…
I got a brand new phone which I adore dearly. Takes surprisingly good pictures, that one being of a customer’s wedding cake.
My terrible work project is over, which means my travel all over west central Florida is at an end. 91 stores, 11 counties this year. It’s good to be home.
In related news, I got a promotion upon my return, to a store that needs some serious help getting back up to standards – the way my district manager phrased it, it seemed as though he was holding that spot for me, so I guess he thinks I can do it. There’re good kids working there; they just need direction… I hope I can do it, cause that’ll clear the way to another promotion fairly soon.
My puppy is getting bigger every single day and (although I am not a dog person) I’m very attached to her. I do miss my kitties, but Bubbles is helping with that. Part of the reason I’m glad to be home is her. It’s nice to have her around to welcome me home, as opposed to the cold comfort of a hotel bed 90 miles away.
Girls that I coach played their first games last Saturday, they won them all. Nice way to start the season.
Rocky Mountain zombies sleep late. Lazy stiffs…
I gave FIVE presentations over the course of the last four weeks and received compliments on my work and my presentation style.
I’m seeing an old friend tomorrow morning.
The guy I let in front of me in traffic this morning waved at me afterwards.
I turned the cardboard scratchy insert over and now my cat is playing with her toy rather than clawing my couch.
The bus driver was REALLY nice to me this morning.
First, I got on the bus and asked if it was possible to just buy an all-day pass right off the bat. It costs the same as two transfers and I can stop places on the way home and not worry too much about cutting it short becuase my transfer runs out.
She said I’d have to get one from a metrolink station or the grocery store or something. “oh. okay then. I guess next time I’ll have to plan ahead!” I said, and paid for a single transfer. I didn’t mope or beg or anything.
She asked if I was going to school and I said yes, then asked what time I got out of school. I answered. She handed me a pass good until 7 PM! for the price of a regular transfer.
I thanked her (a LOT) and sat down. She asked me where I went to school and then told me that I wouldn’t be able to get on my second morning bus with the pass she had given me, so she gave me a second pass!
I sat down with my book and just zoned for a while… when we got to the bus station, there was a bus pulling out. It was the bus I was supposed to get on. She asked me if that was my bus and I said yes, so she honked at them to make them stop.
My second bus was really crowded- no free seats. When I got on, an old lady sitting on one of the long benches scooted over and said, “you can put your bookbag here if you want. that looks pretty heavy.”
Sometimes I think maybe we’re not doomed as a species after all.
(also, hi! look at me posting from school! I’m such a slacker.)
I had a cold so my sweet husband made me great matza ball soup and a nice brisket. My shelted adopted twenty pound kitty decided to give me a twenty minute cuddling session. Our Maine Coon kitty is turning beautiful shades of brown and black as she nears the six month mark. We have fantastic medical insurance that will cover the full cost of several IVF cycles. My three year old is talking in complete sentences that can be understood by most people.
I co-worker told me yesterday that our boss told her he was really glad he hired me, that I’m helping him out a lot, plus other good things. Pretty good, since 6 months ago I knew zip about the business. Also good timing since I’m planning to ask him for a raise on Friday.
Weather has been gorgeous lately.
I found out that we get the day after Thanksgiving as a paid holiday.
Found some Dexter shoes on sale, which is convenient since my current pair is getting worn out.
My daughter and I went to see Colbert Report last night and had a nice time.
You do realize that you just jinxed yourself, right?
This morning I got a new desk to go with my new job. I’m still in a cubicle, but now I’m in a cozy little isolated spot with a huge window. Added bonus – someone left an adorable plush moose on the shelf, probably a freebie left over from a conference. I’m calling him “Moosey.”
I dropped out of my German class. Das ist gut.
I finally found my cell phone charger after the battery went dead yesterday.
My friend got a callback for a skit troupe he’s trying out for. There were separate auditions for writers and actors, and he was called back for both.
I’m getting a brand new MacBook Pro!
eBay sales are nice and brisk. It’s been a couple of weeks since I’ve had an item that didn’t sell.
I’m having a “no husbands, no kids” weekend with my sisters next week. I can’t wait!
Nah - he’s just an optimist.
I stayed home with a cold today (the cold is not the good part - I hate frickin’ colds), but staying home from work was good. I have recently purchased Seasons 3 and 4 of Buffy, so laying on the couch having a Buffy marathon is fine by me.
Plus, I had a can of chunky chicken soup in the cupboard this morning, so I didn’t even have to go out and buy it. Chunky chicken soup rocks!
